Before your application to become a Sideshow Operator can be approved, all the information that you've submitted must be checked to make certain you've lied.

I ALWAYS TELL THE TRUTH . . . . . .even if I have to lie to do it . ( My favorite line from my Father's jam auction )

And Todd , Not only is a quick couse in Chinese most likely on the menu but also a large slice of "Chairy Pie" will probably be offered.

As I understand it the best student will get to go find the keys to the midway.

Is he still performing with the other 3 guys? Or am I on he wrong continent?

I always feel like a little boy when I'm around people I admire. The first morning of the Sideshow gathering I walked past James Taylor at breakfast and was so giddy I just walked past him smiling like a goon. Same way I walked past Todd the whole weekend.... I'm a dork. I clam up and don't know how to act. But, I'll be there to take notes and learn.

I can relate. I get a bit timid myself. On stage, no worries. Off...Well...
Last year the Curator was there. I wanted to stop to chat but could not bring myself to...A little intimidated in person. Same with Todd this year. Was proud I could even get a few words out. When I look up to folks I get more reserved than usual. If I didn't have Sylver along to break the ice I would probably just curl up in a corner and watch everyone pass on by.

...its a whole lot cheaper to go to The Gathering and Hear James Taylor tell the Old Guys stories as if he was there while watching today's Crappy Performers perform in person...either way 125 bones is Peanuts...for what is offered...

$125 being peanuts is a matter of perspective. I personally think that it would be well worth the $. I could twist balloons on a streetcorner for an hour and have it in hand. I didn't see a date for it but If I am free, I might go.
Curator- A bit harsh with the whole "Crappy Performers" bit. I am pretty sure that most of us at the gathering don't suck.
Just my opinion,

I would say you are correct, I was being sarcastic...

I find that ANYONE would be intimidated by me rather sweet...and very silly. I love talking to anyone that is out there doing this stuff. And the fact that I teared up at the awards ceremony should show that I am just a mushy goofball. So there. Gwyd, I will be in Detroit for a couple of weeks during January (make up your own joke) so you better come and visit me, goldarn* it. Thanks.

*not what I originally wrote, but I forgot what a sunday school show the Café is. Sorry to offend the powers that be.

I think the initiative is great, for both fans and performers who can't make a whole spot or season. $125 is well worth it, I would probably pay that much just to hear Johnny Meah speak. All lecturers are on the road and/or working right now, so I don't think there will be much talk about the "good old days". It seems like an amazing opportunity to get a feeling of how things work on the midway.

Now I'm gonna have to ask Bill Carter why they chose the sauna/bath house template for the website. I couldn't find that activity listed on the schedule.

Forget the key to the midway...what you really want is the key to the donniker.

I can't imagine anyone interested in sideshow not enjoying this and getting their money's worth. The priceless stuff isn't always the stuff on the schedule. It is the conversations you have with people who live this life.

Would type more but I just got a new goat and the chupacabra is hungry.

I bought my ticket. Haven't received any details beyond what the website states. Starts tomorrow evening. No exact time. Who else is going?

Ok, I'll do it for $125 cash, but you have to pay for my travel and room. Who do I send my rider too?
