How did he ignite the flame? The video doesn't show it.

The video was edited for some reason. Still waiting for an answer to that and many more. We have been told Wayne's friend, the guy who looks like Daniel Garcia lit the fluid on fire for the host.

I had heard the other guy was BJ Bueno. Seen with the lighter in the pictures. I don't know what BJ looks like,
so I can't be sure. |

This is bloody infuriating. As a magician who's opened up his bag of tricks in many different cultures I now know this could have been me or any one of us in here. Houchin's one of the kindest people on the face of the planet. I cant believe there are people out there who still believe in burning witches, let alone burning magicians who entertain through sleight of hand tricks. There has to be more to this story. Wayne needs his right hands and his appearance as he's a world-reknown magician. I know a lot about the Domincan justice system and I regret to inform that I doubt this piece of filth will get what he deserves. I wish we could rely on a little "street justice" to teach this guy his wrongs. Just watching the footage of Wayne getting up, face red as an apple, saying calmly "I need to go to the hospital" was very disturbing. I think he got off lucky because if it were my crew and I there it wouldve been a different story. That animal would be in the hospital bed next to me and worse off. I apologize for the emotions .. just a tad affected by this as a magician!

This looks a little odd. It seems more like some stupid stunt (by the host, not Wayne) gone awry. It almost seems like the guy thought it wouldn't hurt him, or would burn off quickly without any damage. The guy who put the stuff on his head stays there with him the whole time after the incident and doesn't seem to be going crazy or anything. It will be intresting to see what sort of "explanation" they offer.
In any event it was a very stupid and dangerous thing to do. |

At this point it is very clear is that the video has been edited, as well as part of the audio. That's all I can judge right now.

If Wayne thought this an act "add-on" in any way shape or form he would have described it as so or at least toched on it from that angle during his explanation. He didn't say "Im not sure why it happened but it was probably for the act". It was a criminal attack based on cultural belief systems. Voodoo and dark magic are VERY prevelant and serious outside the comfort zone of Western Culture. This was no accident.

Danny Kazam .. I second Pakar's question. Are you insinuating that Wayne's lying in the media for a stunt? This isn't a demo where we search for a gimmick. This is real life. There are edits in news stories all the time and I've never once thougt "Oh it musn't be true". We must turn off our magician brains and turn on our human ones. If you are right then Wayne will have lost the respect of many people including myself but Waynes a smart enough guy to know that lying and faking injury could in no way benefit him or his career. You can also judge what you do see instead of what has been altered. This was not a hollywood effect IMHO.

I make it clear that I have made no judgement in this matter, and if you were paying any attention, I have said I don't think this is a stunt pulled by Wayne. Sounds like you are insinuating things about me when I'm one of few to hold back judement until all the facts have come forward. It doesn't raise questions for you that part of the video was edited, including some audio of the host saying something? Why won'tt someone come and explain why the video is so edited, why no criminal charges have been laid yet. These are just questions I am asking not because I have already made up my mind, but because the whole story is not being told. Therefore it would be wrong of me to come to any conclusion with so little facts, and plenty of accusations. I don't think Wayne, or anyone is lying. Get that sttraight now. I can't even make that assumption. What I do know is fact is that the video has indded been edited, both the footage and the audio. It was hard to interpretate what the host was saying because two times he was edited out.

Did they guy ever say a word about black magic, voodoo, or the dark arts in that video? Did he say anything at all? I would like to know what actually happened. That video and the accompanying stories obviously don't tell the whole story. |

Let me sum up our posts for you: Many of us are in the midst of sending our "get well soon's", "condolences" and are feeling anger, empathy, sadness or whatever else for Wayne, his family and his career. Of course we want to know the facts as well. You're quick just to outline your skepticism of the video and edits saying that you cannot pass judgement until you have the facts. All we're saying is that we've already passed judgement because the footage, regardless of how many edits, voices heard or not heard, etc, have passed through our retinas and to our visual cortex. We watched the footage and concluded that Wayne has been maliciously attacked, is injured and in the hospital (as Wayne and the media have already confirmed). You've concluded that you will not come to any conclusions until more evidence is presented. Just because the whole story hasn't come out and you noticed a few things shouldn't inhibit your judgement process. You saw his head on fire, you saw the red burns on the video, you're cognizant of his updates in social media and it seems its not enough for you. If you don't think Wayne is lying than you must stop saying you need the whole story before you can conclude anything because logically, that's saying you don't believe him. Its like saying "I believe you Wayne but I don't know if your telling the truth until I get the whole story. Very contradictory. I guess you just have to take a stance on one end or the other. Keep in mind that's its your freedom to not believe Wayne and come to no conclusion while awaiting more evidence. Just don't dance around your answer. Do you believe Wayne and everything he's said (and the images on the video) or do you not believe him right now but may in the future when more details come. There's no in between here. |

Tha's all well and good. I do believe Wayne. But if you think you coud take that video, and the story from one side, into any DA's office and get that guy brought up on attempted murder charges, much less get him convicted of attempted murder (which apparently is the "judgement" you have passed and the "conclusion" to which you have arrived) you are dead wrong. |
