I have been writing down a lot of my thoughts about 25+ years as a kids performer.

What aspects would people be interested in that have not been beaten to death (so to speak)

It won't be a book of tricks, but of how to be a better children's performer. Smile

Greetings Neale; as a magic dealer, manufacturer and publisher, I think you have hit the nail right on the head. Magicians do not need more tricks, they do need to learn how to be a better children's entertainer. Tricks are readily available everywhere, but the real information from someone who has had many years of experience entertaining children, is PRICELESS! Good luck with the book, let me know when it is ready, and if I can do anything to help you with it, or answer any questions you may have, feel free to ask anytime.
All the Best

I think some interesting topics from a pro like you could include:
1. How to get good gigs. Interesting marketing ideas that you have used.
2. Child management. How to avoid losing control of the group.
3. Special arrangements for the birthday kid. Like, what do you do to make him stand out in the show.
4. Some of your pet routines. A glimpse into your actual routines would be nice.
5. Constructing Patter for birthday shows.

These are just a few right off the top of my head. Good luck.

Neale, it depends whether magicians can be persuaded to buy what they need or not.....
I feel there is a large segment of magicians, including many that most badly need the sort of information you are writing fom your experience that won't buy such a book if it doesn't have tricks or new routines for standard apparatus.
That said, email me if there is anything that I might be able to help you with.
Good Luck - sell lots!

Neale, how about:
1) Things that can go wrong and how to ensure they don't.
2) Marketing that works.
3) Differentiating yourself in your market.
4) Music and how to use it to enhance your show.

Just some doubt you have lots to put down in print.
