Whew, I remember listening to him on AM radio (anyone even remember AM radio?)! His music still transcends and will be long played! May he rest in peace.

Just burned Take Five/Time Out onto disc, even though I've had the vinyl for decades. Brubeck's story is amazing. Like Benny Goodman, he was one of the first to integrate his bands; and the Take Five concept of experimenting in different time signatures was very radical when it was issued. The different time signatures came from musics from other countries; so it was incorporating 'world music' long before that became a genre of its own. Check out the whole album again! RIP Dave, one day short of 92! Lynn
