Well guys, sorry if this has already been asked, but I ran a search and couldn't find any good threads to my question. I've been practicing the Mutobe palm since recently getting "Coins on Edge." For some reason I'm having trouble with the placement of the coin in my hand. Is there anyone out there that could help me out, or that could pm me with an answer? Thanks a lot in advance!

You might start with saying hello to Kainoa.

Kainoa explains it very well on the POS2 Repeat Coins from Nostril. It's like doing a thumb palm but sliding it more into position. Play with it and watch the vid again.

Alex, Mutobe is a Japanese magician living in Hawaii. The Mutobe palm is his mutated thumb palm. Kainoa Harbottle is on Palms of Steel 1 and 2.
Check out Kainoa's website http://www.kainoaland.com He has a book out Coins on Edge and a follow up set of notes Cointopia. The Mutobe palm is covered in 5x5 Magic of Japan, Palms of Steel 2 and in Coins on Edge. I think that's enough! Chris |

Chris, thanks for providing the background information to the inquiring Mr. Wong. One small correction, Mr. Yoshihiko Mutobe does not live in Hawaii, but in Japan, where he is the leader of a small but loyal band of highly trained coin-weilding ninja. Years of dedication to the mystic arts have enabled Mutobe and his followers to kill with deadly efficiency, yet all the while, their hands appear flat, open, and completely empty.
Dr. Mutobe (he is also a dentist) occasionally posts here, and I, for one, miss and invite his more active participation.

Ah! Thank you Curtis for clearing that up.
I thought he also lived in Hawaii. Now if I can just get a ticket out to the islands to visit you guys (assuming you don't mind of course!) Chris |

Looking forward to seeing you, Chris, we'll leave a tiki torch in the window for you.
Of course, if by "you guys" you mean to include Kainoa, you might be disappointed because he currently makes his home in Delaware. I understand he's pretty disappointed by it, too.

Oh I know Kainoa is in Delaware (sorry man!)
I just don't want to invite myself over and expect to meet you and anyone else over there. Just trying to be polite I am thinking maybe next summer I could come out for a week? Hmmm...I'll email you Mr. Kam and maybe we can work something out. Chris |

Might I add
The Mutobe Palm isn't published in 5x5 Magic of Japan. the only place I know of the Mutobe palm being published in English is in "New Magic of Japan" (which I'm still trying to get a hold of). It is also Published in a Yellow book called "something something New York Magic..... something something " the book is writen in english and also japanese. I will find out what the book is exactly called because I don't have it with me at this moment.
