So I am making the transition from Kennedys to larger coins. I used to just be able to get Eisenhowers at banks, but that is sadly not really an option these days. The local coin store charges me a fee for them, also annoying. Is there any place left to get these at cost?
I only need a few for practice and replacements as they get scuffed up, so paying a markup isn't too big of a deal... but still would like to know if there is any other route. Thanks in advance! |

I would keep checking local banks, I'd be very surprised if they didn't get some every now and them. How about ebay?

Occasionally users sell them here, $3 - $5 each. a bit taxed imo
Once you get 50 post you can enter the marketplace. There are none listed now. Coin shops usually sell them for +- $1.30 each I found them at my local bank, and they can get them for you if you ask. Although 2 banks I went to refused to even check their vaults. |

If the bank teller said that they didn't have any. It was as Octopusun stated they just didn't want to go get them. They are not hard to come by and are still being minted. It is probably not worth it but even if you don't have an account with them respond with "Well them I'm going to close my account if you don't want my business." That may have them going to the trouble of looking. Maybe not but it's an idea.

A quick check on eBay shows full rolls of Ike dollars ranging in price from 29.99 to 42.99, some with free shipping. All "Buy it Now" prices.

Coin shop for me. I pay $1.25 each. Let's face it, how many are you going to need anyhow? Six or so? Not worth the hassle to really shop around.
When I bought mine, I wanted them all to look about the same and have the same date, something I was happy to pay a little extra for. |

I haven't seen an I. dollar since I don't know when.
I am assuming these are easier to palm than Kennedy halves? |

Any good coin shop should have some on hand. As long as you are not looking to get mint quality uncirculated coins, the cost should be just a little more than face value. Don't get the Bicentennial ones though. they have a liberty bell design on the back instead of the Eagle.
