Not magic, but... I just got to look at a letter my late Father-in-law, Donald Teague, wrote to an aspiring artist some years ago. He stressed the following.

"Do not copy anyone elses work. Be original.

I have an issue of the New Tops, January 1969, Vol 9, No.1, courtesy of Dick Oslund (because his pretty picture is on the cover). On page 46 of said magazine is a three inch square box with the following words printed:

To Whom It May Concern
I wish to make it known that I have never, at any time, given permission to anyone to copy or perform my middle-cut illusion known as the..."Zig - Zag Girl"

There is also a letter from the Magic Circle about Mr. Harbin's Zig Zag. When I can get to the copier tomorrow I will make a copy and load the whole page.

They do it on an old "Happy Days" with Randi. The s***e is a little too obvious. Made me wince when I saw it. I don't blame Randi, he didn't have enough control over what was filmed.

The answer will probably be the same excuse for being pulled over doing 90 in a 70 MPH zone - "Everyone else is doing it."
