Poem For The Children

Twas' 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38,
when 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven's gate.
Their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air,
they could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.

They were filled with such joy, they didn't know what to say,
they remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day.
"Where are we?" asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.
"This is heaven." declared a small boy. "We're spending Christmas at God's house."

When what to their wondering eyes did appear,
but Jesus, their Savior. The children gathered near.
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same,
Then He opened His arms and He called them by name.
And in that moment was joy, that only heaven can bring,
those children all flew into the arms of their King.
And as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
one small girl turned and looked at Jesus' face.

And as if He could read all the questions she had,
He gently whispered to her, "I'll take care of mom and dad."
Then He looked down on earth, the world far below,
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe.

Then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,
"Let My power and presence re-enter this land!"
"May this country be delivered from the hands of fools."
"I'm taking back my nation. I'm taking back my schools!"

Then He and the children stood up without a sound.
"Come now my children, let me show you around."
Excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran,
all displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can.

And I heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,
"In the midst of this darkness, I am still the Light."

Thank you for that, Doug...it's more than beautiful...but, gosh, 20 kids! 6 & 7 years old! That monster...how could he pay for that? Going to hell is one thing. Heck, murdering ONE child in cold blood - how could one pay for that? I mean really justify it. Think about it. Really...just one.

Then, multiply that by 20! Then add in 6 innocent adults! And his MOTHER! His own mother...my God...I cannot imagine that alone! He has to face God. What kind of punishment can make this good? An eternity of torture could not justify ONE...let alone 20! (Wiping tears again)...

Guys, I am sick about this. I have no kids, never been married, but I have never even imagined this happening- worse than any horror story Stephen King could have imagined! I worked for King for 6 years, and know how he thinks. He could never have been able to top this.

Faith. Faith that God will take care of it. Yeah. Can't do anything else. I gotta snap outta this. This is the beginning of a long dark road of depression. I tend to react like this to such incidents. It kills my faith in humanity. I wanna say we are getting better. Advancing. Then this??? Shoots that all to hell!

What really adds to this obscenity, is it's Christmas time! Imagine those families...(OK, I'm broken up...excuse me a second...) Dammit, I hate it when I get like this! Not good. Alrighty...movin' on.

Good thing I'm not a drinking man...a 50 year old bottle of Scotch would be finished by now. Gotta focus here. I hope you all have a Happy Holdiay season, and of course a Merry Christmas...my prayers go out for 27 families and friends of those people. What else can I do?

I hear ya' Doug. This whole incident boggles the brain. It rips at the heart, and metagrobalizes the human mind. What he did is so abjectly facinerous, so unthinkably,wretchedly evil beyond any words that it defies us to describe it. When you think of history's most infamous butchers...Genghis Kahn, Sadamm Husein, Jeffery Damher, Ted Bundy, Adolph Hitler...this kid leads the pack and makes them all seem like choir boys! 

This is an outright EXPRESSION of the nature of Satan himself. It is the wicked one using a human vessel to express his loathing hatred of the human race and his utter depravity. This is a release of his wrath filled anger at all that is pure and good in God's earth.

I think the devil needed a vessel, and looked around and saw the perfect tool in Adam. Then he jumped on it.

Either that or he groomed the kid for years for this specific purpose. (Violent video games and such) Either way, the heinous act was purely Satanic as sure as the Satanic rituals we hear about where children are ...well, I can't say it.

Just remember God's viewpoint. He expressed it when He said "If any one offends one of these little ones who believe in me, it is better for a mill stone be tied around his neck and he be drowned in the depths of the sea. It would have been better for (Adam) that he had never been born.

You mentioned that Adam is going to have to face God. Can you imagine the look of utter horror on his face when God replays the "movie" of his life and the act?

It's kind of like the gospel tract from Chick Publications: "This was your life"

Anyway, think about this: Decades ago, the worst problems we had in our schools were chewing gum in class and talking in the hallways. Somewhere along the way we kicked God out of the schools! We as a Nation  said He was not allowed through the medium of prayer. We gave God the boot.   Fast forward decades later, and we've descended from chewing gum in class into this hellish pitt where kids now blow each other away in cold blood with automatic weapons!!! 

My God!! When are we as a Nation going to wake up???? How many wake up calls like this is it going to take before we see what's as plain as the nose on our proverbial faces and REPENT????

The horror of what happened, as you said, would make Stephen King jealous..


These children, these little babies were all OUR children. In a very real sense these angels belonged to all of us. That was MY son and daughter, and YOUR son and daughter that was slaughtered. These children belonged to you and me and all of us individually and corporately as a Nation. And it's manifestly obvious that we all as a Nation felt the horror and the loss.

But what shocks me even worse is the number of idiots who, after the slaughter occured, said they wanted to do a similar thing!!! 

How many were arrested for having a stash of weapons and planning a similar incident? Wasn't it two or three? 

I'm sorry. My mind is numb. I can't even conceive of it. 

Let's pray as a nation that 2013 brings better things.........

The Newtown school tragedy reminds me of a powerful illustration I used a time or two in my Sunday messages. It comes from author Ben Patterson and revolves around the Bible passage of 1 Thessalonians 4:16: "For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God." The illustration is WORTH A READ:

Many of the students in the makeshift little Ugandan Bible school lived with horrendous reminders of what they'd endured during the murderous reign of Idi Amin. Some of these pastors of village churches were missing an eye or an arm. Several had bulging red scars from deep machete wounds.

The professor was lecturing from Paul's first letter to the Thessalonians, in which the apostle is teaching about Christ's return to reign forever in glory, wiping away every tear and setting straight every injustice. A student's hand went up when he came to Chapter 4, verse 16: "The Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God."

"Yes?" said the professor.

"What will the Lord shout?" the man asked softly.

The professor didn't know what to say. Yet the accumulated suffering of the students in that classroom seemed to demand some kind of answer. What will the Lord say when he finally humbles all his enemies? "I don't know," the professor admitted. "What do you think he'll shout?"

A student's voice came from the back: "I think he'll shout, 'Enough! Enough pain. Enough tears. Enough murder. Enough war. Enough, enough! ENOUGH!'"

That's a good answer. Justice will come when God's inexplicable wisdom and love have determined that there has been enough suffering for the sake of his name.

Think of it , billions, no trillions of injustices commited since Adam, yet God has record books in unimaginable incredible, minute detail! And He will right every one!


Think of the devil. Every injustice and sin can ultimately be traced back to him. He is the initiator of every evil and every sin man has ever been commited.,All these centuries he's thought he was putting it all over on an omniscient God. But his day will also come when he will be presented with the record of his every thought and deed. Wouldn't want to be in his shoes!

Doug- wow I don't even know how to respond to such things. at this point I will just pray that your eyes are opened and you can see the truth thru all the false teaching you seem to be getting. some one has led you down a slippery slope and you have bought into their lies.

when I hear these things especially when some one boast these false teachings as facts my heart aches.

I realize that via a thread like this we can not have a proper discussion as some things get lost in the written words but the truth is there is a reason the bible consist of the books it has. no not one will contradict the other yet there are so many contradictions in the book of Enoch. it was not God inspired my friend.

I don't want to get into a big argument and you can have your opinions but I fear that as you post such things as "fact" that others will blindly follow and lose their way as well.

as for the shooting that took place I am convinced it is not about guns no not at all. it is about mans heart. our hearts have hardened and our country continues to walk away from God. the further we get the worse things will get. is this part of the end times is this a sign of things to come? I will say this. I do believe that we are approaching the end times and that I will see the lords return in my lifetime. the bible is clear and although no one knows the day nor the hour we do have some specifics through out scripture that lead us to see that we are ever closer to the Lords return.

but back to our hearts - this is what we must change we as believers in the one true God must wake up stop being luke warm as if we remain luke warm God will spit us from his mouth. I believe in the very near future things will improve in such amazing ways. things will seem to run smoothly be it less crime more jobs robust economy it will all look good. then things will turn very dark. lets make sure that we have our hearts in His hands that we are standing on the word of God and that we are en graphed to the vine for with out God we will fail but with Him all things are possible. so put on the full armor of God and stand up and be a voice for His truth. let them see who He is thru our love and work to change the hearts of man.

It seems to me that I am seeing a blend of fringe Judaism, Seventh Day Adventism, and some other blends that I can't quite identify in Doug's postings.

I believe Doug is sincere in his beliefs. I also believe that he is sincerely wrong.

I hope and pray to be able to have a private discussion about this in an open and honest manner.

after spending some time in prayer this week over your post on the book of Enoch I can not just sit by and let it go.

there is so much wrong with this book and it is not God inspired. it is of the enemy to draw us away from the truth! the enemy is using this book to deceive you and any one else that reads it.

I beg everyone to NOT read this book. it will only put thoughts in your head and get you off the path that God wants us on.

a few facts about this book- first it was not written by Enoch of the bible
second there are so many Fallacies within the book. things that contradict the bible.

I don't need to go into all the facts but if you would like more just let me know.

finally I will pray that the Veil will be lifted from your eyes that you may see the truth and that the Holy Spirit will lead you back to Gods true words.

I know I may be biased on this, but this week (February 4-8) is "Founder's Week" at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. One of my favorite weeks each year. That means all the Moody radio stations around the country will be broadcasting live all this week during the daily morning, afternoon, and evening conference sessions. There is probably a Moody radio station near you, or you can go to http://www.moodyconferences.com and click on "Broadcasting" to hear Founder's Week live. Nothing like hearing live Christian music and sermons as they are being delivered live, unedited, and pretty much day and night all this week beginning this evening. Tons of terrific speakers including Tony Evans, James MacDonald, Erwin Lutzer, John MacArthur and many more. I have driven to the conference several times in past years to personally attend, but when the weather is snowy bad like it is today, can still catch everything on the radio or on the web.

Magicbus - I miss being able to Hear! I enjoyed the days of being in my office and either having on a speaker or some great christian music. enjoy the radio for me too please:)

I post items such as the above as it is ongoing teaching, sermons, broadcasts, etc. from good sources that has helped me sort through all that is "out there" that goes on in the name of Christianity. For example, like many FCMers, unfortunately, I am way overweight. Not good! So when I found out about a local http://www.FirstPlace4Health.com group that meets at a local evangelical church, I decided to join up. So far, so good! Carole Lewis has authored many excellent books on weight loss combined with living a disciplined Christian life- I have already learned a lot in this program even though I have only been in the group 3 weeks so far.

Anyway, point being, feed on the Word of God daily, including through good sources, it is an invaluable part in Christian growth.
