Something I noticed when I first saw the names and birth dates of the children. Miss Bacon and I share a birthday, separated by 50 years.

I want to thank everyone so far for acting civil and expressing your sympathy towards those who are struggling at this time with this tragedy.
The families may not read this but prayers are heard, well wishes are heard, COMPASSION & LOVE are felt!!! Love goes a long way, since this has happened I really want to do more, express more, LOVE MORE!!! I feel so insignificant yet I know somehow I can make a difference. I feel so awful all these people where taken away from loved ones so soon. One very sad man in FL. -Bobby |

Man, it's tough times like these when music really warms the soul.
I listen to ALOT of music because I think music can be applied to nearly any station or situation. I never realized the full impact of Linkin PArk's 2010 album "A Thousand Suns" until this weekend. Take a look at the deep lyrics from the first two songs, both of which were from speeches: The Requiem "God save us everyone Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns For the sins of our hand Sins of our tongue Sins of our father Sins of our young God save us everyone Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns For the sins of our hand Sins of our tongue Sins of our father Sins of our young" The Radiance "We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried. Most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita; Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty, and to impress him, takes on his multi-armed form and says, 'Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.' I suppose we all thought that, one way or another." And the rest of the CD goes on to discuss depression, death, sadness, grief, and hope as well. Right now, I am listening to the uplifting music of Relient K. "Up and Up," "Give Until There's Nothing Left," and "Deathbed" are amazing songs about hope and salvation. Try listening to good music. It just might help fix this broken world. |

Limited compassion and love. The families of all those involved are struggling with this tragedy. All of them are affected by grief. I expect limited love and compassion from people who don't believe. But from those who call themselves Christians, we are called to a higher morality.
Luke 23:34 should serve as our example. To everyone, victims and killer Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord May your perputal light shine on them and may their souls rest in peace. And to ALL the families left behind: May you find the grace of God in every step you take. Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum. Benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Jesus. Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen. Benedicat vos omnipotens Dominu Deus, In nomine Pater et Filius et Spiritus Sanctus. Peace and Godspeed.
Peace

My sorrow since hearing of this heinous slaughter of so many innocent lives has been ineffable. I can only think "Those children, in a very REAL sense are the sons and daughters of us ALL. I can't imagine a human without a heart to deeply feel the profound grief that covers our Nation after this shameful atrocity has been perpetrated upon us. Only the most extremely obdurate among us could not feel the pain. Only the most sub-human can witness this and not feel some compassion, some sorrow, some measure of grief. To quote one of the citizens of that town, spoken with tears flowing like a river down her cheeks " They were only BABIES!!"
My heart is broken, My heart is broken beyond any words in my vocabulary that I posess. I receoved an E-mail that touched me. It offered a tiny measure of comfort. It was a poem. Here is what it said: Twas' 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38 when 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven's gate. their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air they could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there They were filled with such joy, they didn't know what to say they remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day. "where are we?" asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse. "this is heaven." declared a small boy. "we're spending Christmas at God's house." When what to their wondering eyes did appear, but Jesus, their savior, the children gathered near. He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same. then He opened His arms and He called them by name. and in that moment was joy, that only heaven can bring those children all flew into the arms of their King and as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace, one small girl turned and looked at Jesus' face. And as if He could read all the questions she had He gently whispered to her, "I'll take care of mom and dad." then He looked down on earth, the world far below He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand, "Let My power and presence re-enter this land!" "may this country be delivered from the hands of fools" "I'm taking back my nation. I'm taking back my schools!" Then He and the children stood up without a sound. "come now my children, let me show you around." Excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran. all displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can. And I heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight, "in the midst of this darkness, I AM STILL THE LIGHT." written by Cameo Smith of Mt. Wolf, PA.

I doubt anything will comfort those that have been through this terrible time other than time itself.

My heart breaks everytime I hear such tragedy, specially this one. I spend most of my time with children even now I don't as much as I did.
There is no words that can describe the pain and suffering of the victims' families. There is none. Nothing would ever heal the scar this tragedy made. My deep condolences and sympathy for those who are affected directly or indirectly by this tragedy. May God himself that will provide the healing and wipes the sorrow, because no human would ever be able to do so. I don't know any of the victims, but imagining myself in their position, I would be destroyed and shattered. RIP young angels and those brave teachers and staffs who had given their lives to protect the young ones. Even they're not their own kids or children.

One more thing and please don't jump on me.
A person who would do such a thing is sick. The idea that he is less human and in less need of compassion and understanding and yes grief is not within my ability to comprehend. He is in as much if not more need of such feelings. As a society it is easy to simply turn our back on such people, but if we do that finding out what brings people to this end is never going to happen. We learn through pain. We can not blame the man for the disease. Just an opinion.

I asked because I know nothing of the offender. And no, it doesn't matter because he is dead and cannot stand trial.

I must dissent. There are many, many mentally ill people out there, and the overwhelming majority of them aren't mass murderers. As far as we know, he had free will and didn't think the.children were evil Martians. To automatically write it off as, "Well, he was mentally ill" is to partially and as far as we know unjustifiably absolve him of some of the moral culpability for his actions.

It is a sad Christmas. I have been thinking of the families over there all day and their state of mind. I think the only people who can really help them get through this is each other.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

It is not about any others it is about him. Not understanding it and so condemning it is a bad route.
My lord children. An expression of innocence. It is just so hard to comprehend. Still.

I am so ashamed of myself!! I had Christmas with my family, and had a blessed beautuful time, but now it just struck me that all the time I was enjoying this wonderful holiday gathering, my thoughts never once drifted to those families who experienced Christmas without their children who were murdered. And now I just feel totally ashamed.
May God bless and touch and comfort those parents and relatives who have had their heart literally ripped out of their chest by the cold, heartless savageness of that slaughter.
