I've encountered an ignorant troll on YouTube who has posted offensive messages about me, and also Eric Knauss. Suggest you check your YouTube account, Eric, and delete the comments on your "Kidshow rockstar" clip. You can block the troll, but no doubt he will return in another guise. It's also possible to disable comments.
The troll seems to be green with envy, and red with rage, that some folks can make a living as kids' entertainers. I find it all highly amusing, but thought I'd warn everyone here, as no doubt the troll looks here for his victims. Potty |

I'm willing to bet this troll's hourly rate of pay does not come close to Potty or Eric's, and yet you guys have no talent. I think every member of this forum can appreciate how difficult it is to entertain children sometimes, and it does take a unique talent.
I believe you can set your youtube account up to notify you when someone makes a comment. He hasn't gotten to my videos yet but I am not a superstar.

He made comments about my videos too. I quickly deleted, blocked, and ignored him. He appeared here on the Café and I recognized him immediately (he tends to rattle off the same catch phrases repeatedly ("tricks a monkey could do", "charging 300 to be a babysitter", "fake acting", knocking silly billy, etc). So I posted him as a possible flamer. Surprisingly I haven't seem him post anything since. Perhaps the moderators act fast here.

Thanks for pointing this out Potty. Is he the same guy who came on a thread here, and used the term "fake acting". I tried to point out to him that I wasn't sure what the term 'fake acting' meant. Do I act the same around adults as I do with kids? Lol, of course not, so I do I do a bit of acting, and facial expression, yes, I'm not sure what he means by that.
Also, babysitters in my area charge 15 an hour, not 350. The parents here, as I'm sure where you all are, don't pay for us to babysit. It's rediculous, but I would like to see the youtube you're referring to. How do I find it? |

Hey Dynamike, thanks for posting link. In the thread about being a children's entertainer in 12 weeks, which is probably on the 2nd page of threads by now, a guy by the name of Joe Smithna, talks about fake acting, etc, he seems to not be happy with me, and my style, look at the thread and see if they sound familiar.
He has to give parents more credit, if he truly believes that parents hire someone to make a silly face, then he's got tons to learn. Parents are smarter than that. They hire people with intuitive skills to keep children going for a while. Also, give children more credit. If you think that making a silly face alone, will keep kids sitting for 45 minutes, then he's got more to learn on that. Oh, well. |

It does not matter what you do. A true professional will always make what he does seem easy and effortless. Some will take it for granted that if it looks effortless, anybody can do it. And as a matter of fact, anybody can do our job, the question is can they do it well! That is where the experience, and practice come into play. And it is also partly why we charge more than the average babysitter!

I was told that I had no talent on youtube. I answered him and then our fight appeared on facebook, so I quickly removed my comments on youtube.

There was a thread here where someone said he knew the guy and he's a minister in (I think) Kentucky. I think there was more about tracking him down and something, but I don't remember exactly and can't find the thread so I don't want to say anything that's not true.
Maybe whoever posted will come in here and shed some light. I think many of us have been, or will be, attacked like that. I have, but it was a long time ago. It eventually went away because it was all untrue. But it was a hard thing to go through and keep my head up and keep going. Sometimes it seems the nature of people is to want to believe the bad no matter how far-fetched it sounds. Online forums make it so much easier. Sure, it happens here, but the majority of people here are positive and supportive. I appreciate you guys for that. Posted: Dec 23, 2012 10:39am By the way... Al, I've seen your videos and I like what you do. I have no talent for juggling so I especially enjoy watching good jugglers. And Eric, The Great Zucchini, I've seen clips of your shows and have your Rockstar DVD and lecture notes. I count them among the best I've seen and bought - very good and useful stuff. Thanks for creating them.

I wonder what children's magician stood him up at the altar or stole his puppy when he was a child.

Zuke, you should go to your YouTube account and delete the posts. I've now made all comments to my videos by "approval", which means they only get posted if I OK them. I suggest you do the same, Zuke.
As for letting folks like this get under my skin - of course they haven't got a chance! Apart from anything else, the comments are completely random, and meaningless. The guy's attacking kids' entertainment in general, his comments aren't specific to the performers he makes comments about. But why would comments from some anonymous troll upset me? I have hundreds of great testimonials, and have never had a complaint from a client. I am customer-focussed, and troll intolerant. ;) |

Potty, this might surprise you but I don't have a youtube account. Every youtube clip from me performing has always been put up by the parent without me even knowing. I, sometimes go to youtube to see if any new ones appear. I don't put them up. That being said, I put a up a link to the rockstar dvd when it came out, but all the shops that are selling it, took it from there.
Also, anytime you're in the public eye, which, we all are, being performers, this thing doesn't bother me so much. This isn't hurting me, his comments, because people here know me. His comments, might deter people that are searching on line for a a dvd, but I don't care. I don't make money from the dvd, if people want to buy, great, if not, that's fine too. I'm telling you. When you're doing hundreds a shows a year, like lots of us are doing, that puts us in front of thousands of people. We hope every single last person never says a bad word about us, but it will stress you out, if you let it get to every second. Once I learned that, I felt better. |

It seems to me after reading some of his posts, is that he is a musican that is bitter that children entertainers especialy magicians, are being hired over him. Maybe if he concentrated on why that is the case, and improve on advertizement, content, and being able to connect to his audience, maybe he would not have such anger in him.
Oh and Angello, I have seen your juggling videos, and I wish that I had your "no talent" for it! |
