Merry Christmas, my friend. What's for dinner at the Baker Homestead? I am sure it will be one of the reasons the family gathers at your house!

Actually I went to my sister's house and my brother did most of the cooking. Ham and the lots of fun things to go with it. I made pies!

Michael;
Merry Christmas and thank you for all the assistance that you have provided to so many here at the Café. Your self-effacing character does much to offset the few "experts" whose knowledge is deep but humility shallow. Best wishes for a healthy and productive New Year.

I hope everyone has semi-recovered from the intensity that usually leads up to Christmas, and that you are now resting peacefully among the shreds of old wrapping paper, a fridge filled with leftovers, and new gifts in your home that you have to find a place to put!
My family draws names to simplify the gift thing for everyone. One gift in, one gift out. Aside from my 4 month old Grandson, all are adults now. Quite a shock to me this year, my sister gave me a mini Green Bay Packers football helmet that she had sent to Bart Starr (my hero since childhood), who autographed it to me! So, now we head toward New Years. Do any of you have plans regarding this in any way... party, dinner, football?? Sleep??

A very low key New Year's Eve party with close friends...the best kinda party. Also using my time off from work to spend some quality time with the wife. Today we checked out our Cleveland Museum of Art, which has just gone through a major expansion, and is now easily on par with any major art museum around the world. The other thing we had planned was to do a movie marathon at a multiplex...this is where you go literally from one theater to another. Three movies is our goal...start with the Hobbit...I don't know the next two.
Happy New Year everyone. Our world is going through so much right now...it's so nice to visit here and have some peace...and magic.

I've tried to stay away from the computer for most of the holidays, but all here on the Café have been in my thoughts, and, I hope all had a very merrie Christmas!
