I'm going to try and make a video of doing it with my feet in the next few weeks. I haven't actually tried it yet, so if it's just a mess, then I won't post it.

Hey John, on the first restoration, they recommend holding the piece in place momentarily (with your index finger, say) as the dirty hand covers the corner. This prevents the "click" you're hearing as the hand presses down (as opposed to the piece leaping up into the hand). I've found it unnecessary for the second piece.

MrWizard: that's easy stuff. If you want to see some difficult footwork, watch Lon Chaney, Sr.'s film "The Unknown." Chaney was foot doubled by a guy with no arms--I think his name was Dismuski.

Right from Monday and today I have been doing the little routine that I have mentioned involving the plastic card box.I did this approximatly 8 odd times some were one on one.
The outcome: Had a few comments on HOW did you do that. That's clever,i like that. One thought he knew how I did it. At no time did I mess up the move,it was silent and they never even saw me do the dirty deed with my left hand.Over all I really thought that they would find this wonderful, lol, some did look surprised at times but I expected more reaction's,mind you that's magic for you folk only seem to scream and go mad on telly ,lol.Early day's will try again tomo with two different groups. A new idea I would like to find an old antique card box and tell them that it has special healing powers or some type of medical box like a small tin or box that would of carried plaster's, just would be better to be about the same size as a card box that fit's a single deck,so now I hope to bring a touch of Bizarre to the gag,so to speak, all the best. |

I think the reactions will be better with the original routine with the round dish.

I did this on a walk about amongst group's and single people, will still perform from the dish when I am at a table if I perform it at a table? I think the whole dish container and even the card box look's sus, still under experimentation, lol, will report back, all the best.

I believe you're overthinking this. Nobody cares about the dish. Nobody. It's about as close to a special effect in real-time as you can get. The fact is, you can hand out the card and the dish after the restoration is complete, so nothing should really compel them to think they are suspicious after that. Also, I might add - every time I've done this the reaction is stunned silence. Nobody screams on these types of effects. It's strong . . .

I like the contrast between the round dish an the rectangular card.......I like the idea of the card case but I preffer the round dish.

I think the round Petri dish is good for the reason you can say you are doing a science experiment and will attempt to repair or regenerate the cellular damaged or the DNA of the torn card. I think everyone knows what a Petri dish is so it makes sense to use it for this purpose. Could even show a photo of cellular growth in a Petri dish to add to the imagination of the viewers and ask them to help you with the restoration by using visualization techniques. Or maybe not, you be the judge. Wizardo

Well I can see what you mean with the dish and I will be performing with it even after some fantastic results today with it in the card box,i now have some nail polish remover out( not doing my nails lol)i have some idea's of forcing a card,it's the wrong one, then I morph a corner on to a blank 3 quater, it dissapear's and the corner is there chosen card.Would love to be able to put a corner ,the back of a playing card onto the front of a playing card,is the any gaffed cards out there? all the best.
