Hello all,
I've been thinking about putting together a collection of crooked carnival games. The problem is I'm not sure exactly where you can buy such contraptions. I'm interested mainly in the "skill" games. Games like 1) The one where you can't set up the bottle with the fork thing or 2) You can't knock over the single miniature bowling pin with the swing washer on a string. any ideas? Thought it might be fun to set up to drive my know it all lawyer friends nuts! :0) Thanks! |

There is no "cheat_the_fairgoer.com" - These games are pretty much entirely "make it yourself". The principles that make them unwinnable should lead you quite directly to that conclusion.
PS - try these things on enough lawyers and ... well, that should be self-evident, too, |

Patrick, good to see you here.
Bruce Walstad is the guy you need. He wrote a bunch of great books about cons and scams, and he had some of the game made up a bunch of years ago. I got my bottle up game from him. It's pretty simple and if Bruce no longer has one, PM and I'll take some photos of mine and you can make your own. You might also want to investigate Cover the Spot and get Ian Kendalls DVD on how to work it. Todd |

Yep, pretty soon.
This is my last semester of law school. After graduation and the bar exam I should have some more time. Eventually things should get back to normal...whatever that is! |

No instructions included. If you don't know what it is, you don't need it.

Definitely picked up Cover the Spot. I remember as a kid, a guy got $5 out of me at a carnival. I got pretty darn close considering I didn't know what I was doing.
I also remember loosing money to the game where you try to knock over the single miniature bowling pin with a swinging mini bowling ball. So I'm particularly interested in picking up a version of this one as well. Thanks everybody! |

Bruce Walsted had Swingers (that bowling pin knock down game) as well.

Cover the Spot is a great game - although not easy if you make the red circle the largest possible (mathemeatically speaking) compared with the disks.
This video gives all the dimensions - also the sizes for the more difficult version. I use old DVD disks as they look ungimmicked [and they are!] Have fun guys John |
