Here's the movie I made for the Las Vegas "Magic Live Film Festival" Competition in 2011.

The film had to have a magic theme to it, and also had to have the cover of Magic Magazine show up somewhere in the film.

This film ended up winning 2 awards:
Best Screenplay and
Best use of Magic Magazine

Enjoy!

You can check out some of the other film festival movies on the same youtube channel. It was great fun!

SOME MOVIE TRIVIA from my film:

1) The Magic Magazine that Cody (my son) picks up with Lance Burton on the cover was the very first issue of the magazine.
So, when it transitions to the 2011 issue, 21 years have gone by.

2) On our first night of filming the weather turned nasty and we got a tornado warning.
We had to go into my friend's basement into the closet, and had to move their artificial Christmas tree so we could all fit.
Hence the name, "Moving Tree Pictures"

3) the entire film was shot on an iPhone4

4) the entire film was edited in iMovie

5) the credits took the longest, as we had to do some workarounds since we were only working with iMovie
I really wanted the credits to look like the last page of Magic Magazine, which is the "FINALLY" page.

Magic is what "finally" caught the attention of the girl.

Hahaha that Moving Tree Pictures name is brilliant!
Lots of film makers are experimenting with shooting shorts on cell phones.
You should look them up. Truly inspiring what can be done.

That was really great, Tim!

And of course, you left it open for a sequel. Still lots of the book to work through. Smile

Now that was great. It took me back in years. Made a tear come up in my eye. Just great. Thanks for posting it and I looking forward to the sequel.
