Radin has conducted parapsychological research in several areas, drawing the personal conclusion that psychic phenomena exist. However, Radin's research has failed to capture the attention of mainstream science and the scientific community as a whole, who support mainstream models incompatible with, and often contradictory to, Radin's conclusions. Some of this research includes: *Random number generators and world events: Events which capture the attention of many people may affect random number generators. Other publications report analytical studies on how lunar cycles may affect psi and winning at one gambling casino. To his surprise the spoon he was holding started to bend. The bowl momentarily felt like putty. Using one finger and thumb he easily pinched the end of the bowl over, nearly bending the bowl to half its length. Dean had decided in advance that the only bend he might find interesting would be of the bowl of a spoon, because to do this without tools and/or leverage is beyond the capability of most people, including himself. I read The Conscious Universe, Radin's first book, on Bob Cassidy's recommendation and found it to be very fascinating and informative. I've just begun reading Dean's second book, Entangled Minds, which picks up where The Conscious Universe left off.
Whether you believe in the existence of Psi or not, Radin makes a compelling argument and both books provide an excellent overview of the history of parapsychology. If nothing else, it can serve as an aid when creating presentational material. Recommended reading for anyone with even a slight interest in parapsychology, which I assume would be quite a few people on this board. |

This is fascinating stuff, especially the effect on inanimate objects like slot machines and random number generators.
Living things are also interesting, but not really unusual, IMO. Many religions have as part of their inner workings some idea of a universal-intelligence-that-communicates-to-all, whether “all-powerful” or not. One group in particular thinks that separate identity is a complete illusion, that we are all simple cells within a cosmic mind. While those ideas are entertaining and possibly useful, they are still very much subjective. The machines are what draw my attention, as they can be tested (mostly) objectively and at length, and with fewer “bad days”, no mood swings, emotional memories, or fatigue (at least in the traditional sense.) I think that if “irrefutable” proof is ever to be found, it will be through the inanimate rather than through unpredictable, emotional, calculating, and (too often) deceitful humanity. Thanks for opening the thread, Kazuba.
...what if I could read your mind?

Marcello Truzzi blasted critics of the paranormal experiments that concluded the statistically significant positive results being found by meta-analysis may not be due to a psychic ability but instead to anomalies. As used in statistics statistically significant does not mean important or meaningful, as it does in everyday speech. It means other than chance. That includes a lot of territory. Not necessarily a psychic ability.

Plain old chemistry is certainly a great part of what makes a person who they are. See: Risperidone, Bupropion, Lithium Carbonate, Fluoxetine, Thorazine, Trilafon, Elavil, Imipramine, Ritalin, and Endep. These medications and others do not affect human behavior and mental illness due to quantum physics. Dean Radin is very fond of the quantum physics of human consciousness.

Yeah Radin's work is really fascinating, I really advices!
I love his approach and that of Rupert Sheldrake and Russell Targ (Limitless Mind - A Guide to Remote Viewing and Transformation of Consciousness is a great book) Nice initiative this topic Chris
