The first one I learned was the 1 coin in each hand , while 1 coin rest on the knuckles of each hand.
I am guessing others started there. Can anyone remember if it is in Bobo's or other source?

For me, I agree mostly with my friend Sun here as the one by Ammar teaches you the simple basics to all the others...Just add practice and sprinkle in some creativity, and you're on your way with this genre, pretty much any which way you want to go. It was a great personal encouragement for me. On a relative note here more to the point, probably the easiest coins across is Tenkai Pennies, which Jay Sankey used the basis of on steroids to come up with his Mr. Clean Coins Across. Easy does it.

The info here is stupendous. As always, I'll take a multidimensional, holistic analysis of all of them and utilize what works best for me. Its just a great opener for a nice coin routine. When an effect still looks magical to a seasoned magician and you find yourself with that sly, half smile in the mirror after having fooled your own visual cortex, you know the effect is ageless.
Thanks everybody. Good body of info to work with here. Much appreciated, Jeff |

Jules DeBarros' "The Coins of Ishtar" (which uses gaffed coins) is easy to do and a lot of fun to perform. I've gotten excellent reactions with it.

P.S. While "Coins of Ishtar" is technically a transposition, it plays like a coins across routine. That is, three silver coins seem to move across the table and change places with three copper coins.

Back in 1992 I learned a routine called 4 coins and a Filipino by Homer Liwag. It was in print and I was a coin novice yet I found it relatively easy to learn, practice and perform. That routine has since been morphed into a DVD called CoinOne. It is one of the best instructional formats you will ever experience with production values completely off the charts. Learning will never be easier.
I have been performing a personally altered version of CoinOne ( or the coins across routine formally known as 4C&AF ) for over 20 years and have not even bothered to consider any other coins across routine since. I cannot recommend it more sincerity and enthusiasm. It has served me and my audiences extremely well. Peace, Charlie |

YOu might want to check out volume 1 of the New york Coin magic Seminar dvd series. its a 2 volume DVD set with over 27 coins across routines. Pick the one you like, palm up, palm down, open hand, closed hand, three coins, four coins, extra coins, gaffs, no gaffs, etc.! I should also mention the L&L came out with a series of DVDs culled from their collections. They have one with several coins across by various magicians who appear in their series.
