Anyone think about ever doing some Tenyo YouTube vids with a GoPro sport cam?
The crazy wide angle fish eye lens and mounting possibilities could produce some wild looking angles. The out of box slow mo is awesome too. Please post if you have shot any performance footage with a GoPro. |

Welcome back Houdini103126 been a while since you have posted. I just seen the commercials for GoPro Sports Cam that is a great product. Sure to get some interesting magic videos with that. I'm thinking I need to get one of those I can use it for many things. Looks perfect for a dash cam. I guess you have one. If so is it as good as it looks?

Richard,
Thanks. Indeed I do have one, the GoPro Hero 3 BLACK EDITION. This version has various video resolutions and frames per second (FPS) options the SILVER and WHITE editions don't have. http://gopro.com/cameras/hd-hero3-black-edition#specs Here's the low down on the cam: The very first Black Edition cams sold through October, November, and December of last year were plagued with software bugs. GoPro quickly released a software update to fix the issues. The update seemed to fix some cams but not all (from Internet anecdotes). The battery life on the cam is often critiqued but most people don't understand the effects of battery capacity, environmental variables, software configuration, and battery optimization strategies. The Black Edition even shoots 4k video (ultra high def) at 15FPS or 2.7k video (super hi def) @30FPS The wide angle fish eye lens is just right as to not distort your video but offer a "Live" look. You can also shoot normal and narrow, so the cam is super flexible. The 1080p 60 mode is great for fast and slow mo, super slow mo can be had using the 240FPS mode (VGA). The thing is so small and has so many mounting options, it's perfect as a spy cam or performance cam. What makes this cam amazing is the WiFi remote which can control up to 50 cams. I'll try and record some performance and post a link. If anyone else has done this already, please post. |
