It's free for a reason. If they charged....you'd have an empty restaurant.

tbaer, thank you for the kind words.
Danny Kazam, your apology is kindly accepted sir. Zombie Magic, membership is FREE because I say its free, no other reason and I won't waste people's time by debating with someone who has no say in the matter, thank you very much. I believe this topic concerns SSS by Shim Lim - so let's get back to it - shall we?

A teleprompter is WAY off the mark for anyone who knows what they are doing or cares. What helps is having someone who has some performing experience under their belt. That keeps you from rambling and coming off like you might be under the influence of something. I agree this video seemed very unorganized and the lighting and sound was terrible. The information is there but a solid product through and through makes you look more professional and encourages future patronage. In some ways it can feel like he just doesn't care about anything other than pumping out the product to get paid. I also want to add that the fact they say the special something that is included is hard to find is laughable. He either didn't look too hard or it was just a ruse to deter piracy. (which it won't)

I was curious if it was workable....it seems to be workable to some.
Really do not understand the whole discussion about Shin and Alan. Leave this discussion to the people who are involved or have a part in this. Right now I've got a Waldorf and Stadler feeling after reading this thread, some grumpy men who just want to say something. Review SSS if it's worth reviewing. Feedback is oké but in my opninion needs to be constructive (if that's the right word, English is not my native language) Before Twizted was released by Eric Jones I've showed exactly the same thing to some people. It was a well known (respected) magician who told me that Eric was shooting the video. Bad luck for me (maybe, depends on how you see it). I've told him the idea was not new but the application was. I did not 'publish' it and even didn't know how to do that...Had some pm's with Eric and all fine (great guy) Should I start a discussion about it to make a point? No, because there are more things in live which are much more important than 'magic'. He was the first on the ladder and so is Shin Lim in this case. Don't know how Alan is thinking about this but we are not the people to decide for him. From reading Alan's posts, released material etc. he seems to me like a very nice grown up guy (well not litteraly ) I have the confidence that he will make up his mind and creates his own decision whatever that will be. (I personally don't even want to know, I'm interested in magic....) |

Greetings!
For DIY types I think this DVD has some great ideas and a wealth of information so you can go out and create your own effects. And for those complaining that Shin doesn't explain the smoke from mouth gimmick and technique that he uses well all I can say is you must have a different version of the DVD than I do. On the DVD Shin says he isn't going to divulge his smoke from mouth gimmick, but then goes ahead and tells you what it is and how he constructed it. The only thing left out is Shin sitting there for two hours showing you exactly how to construct the smoke to mouth gimmick, but he does tell you exactly how he did it! So again ALL the necessary information is there. If you need additional help I suggest you pick up Ben Harris' Enlightenment effect. Not only is Enlightenment a great effect but it will teach you in detail how to construct the type of gimmick you will need in Shin's smoke from mouth effect. Aside from some minor issues with redundancy of some of the material being repeated, I felt this was a great primer on DIY smoke effects and I would definitely purchase it again. Cheers! ** Bill ** |

I figured the "special something" was included just to give the customers something besides the DVD, and the other materials (with one exception) are from non-magical commercial products he would have no right to repackage.
Regarding the teleprompter, as I later acknowledged, some people can speak well from memory. Of course, there IS a reason that politicians and TV presenters use teleprompters. |

It's been about a week of working on this and I've eventually come up with a practical solution some £100 ($150) later!!!
The solution does not cost a lot that's just how much I have spent trying various things to come up with a good solution for walk around. I did say an admin fee would be charged for the information but in the spirit of things I can't charge fellow SSS buyers for my solution which at the end of the day is quite basic but workable and solves some basic issues with the given set up. Anyone who Pm's me will be given my email address to send proof of purchase (which must be dated before today), you will be then be given free access to the bonus page. Well I assembled this and the smoke is hardly noticeable. Maybe I need a smokier smoker.

Test without rigging it all up if you get lots of smoke you are losing it somewhere, if you don't get much it's your smoker. I've found the ones I refill last longer than the bought ones plus they do seem to give more smoke. You also need to be aware of how your smoker breaths, they are not all the same and make sure nothing is blocking it. I don't think you have read my notes on this send me a PM and I'll tell you how to get them. I took this to the magic club last night and people were very surpised how good this works considering the bashing it's had on here!!!
