Hey Everyone. So I was just at Magifest and ran into Scott Robinson. After seeing his lecture and talking to him he told me that he is putting out a new book through Vanishing inc. I am very excited for this because a lot of the stuff he was showing me was FANTASTIC. I have not heard much about this magician before, but after this weekend I can see that he is another fantastic magician with real workable material. You may have seen his Willy Wonka card trick on VanshingInc, which is a beautiful piece of magic! I cannot wait to see this book. Not sure of when it'll be out but I wonder if others know more about it!

I'll go on record as saying that Scott is one of the best kept secrets in magic. He, like one of my early mentors(woody landers), flies below the radar far too often. By the way, Scott also runs the best close-up convention on the east coast. Look it up.

Willy in my pocket? If so, it's awesome. Also check out 'differences" for the most surprising backfire-esque coin routine that I've seen. If you're into commercial card magic, you can do no better than "the queen thing". I'll stop there because I've said too much, however I've withheld a few personal favorite routines of Mr. Robinson. Happy hunting.

Scott organizes the Carolina Clos-Up Convention (TRICS) every year in Charlotte NC. It's about to take place again in 2 weeks. If you are able to make it, I'd highly suggest it. I went a few years back and Scott took every opportunity to make sure felt welcome.

"The Queen Thing" is also available as a download at Vanishing Inc Magic.

Anyone have experience with this routine?

I believe the Vanishing Inc rep. (Kyle Littleton) mentioned September, but I'm not 100% sure of that.

Price for my pre-release copy was $60, but I don't know what they will charge upon release. It's a big book, thick paper stock, all color photos, etc. I suspect it will sell like gangbusters.

My understanding is this book has been designed to lay flat on the table so that you can reference it while you are working alongside the method descriptions. That’s a really great bonus.

It has a quality (sewn) binding, so yes, that is correct.

Superb book, highly recommended for those interested in coin/card work.

The new book has an updated handling ("Different Differences") that looks just as nice and is substantially less difficult.
