I just read the book "Shalosh" by Nimrod Harel and learned about his trick "Add a number - BIBLE".

He wrote how to make the number you wrote in first place appear you have to put it in the memory and then when the volunteer presses the square root it appears, but it didn't happen to me.

Can someone explain me how to do that and do I need a special calculator?

Hi. If you use a smartphone with a scientific calculator you can accomplish something like this.

Let's say your force number is 37818. Enter 37818 + 0 (

Then any spectators can enter any number desired. At the end, you or they press "=". and the result is 37818.

Turn the calculator upside down and you have "BIBLE"

Give it a shot.

The best part is it shouldn't cost you a penny if you have a smartphone. I have a Droid with a free downloaded scientific calculator.

This doesn't involve pressing any square root, but I think having several participants enter a different number each could be very powerful.

One thing missing from my explanation:

As the spectators are entering their numbers, they can press "+" in between each number (Sort of "Add a number"}.

If you are doing this in a religious routine, you could have several participants enter their favorite psalm or something.

Best of luck and God bless.

Thank you very much for your answer.

But, I would like to do something with the square root, since it will have a bigger impact than a simple adding numbers. Because that way, many people can see if this is real or not.

Do you have another solution to this?

EDIT: By the way - can you recommoned me a good calculator application? Because all I found weren't that good.

There are calculators for sale for this type of effect. You can find them at the link below. I love mine and use it as part of my book test.
