Has anyone seen jacketless on Rich Hill website?

I have seen it on his website. I prefer a jacket steal but I can see where it might be beneficial.

Hi,
I was actually contacted a few years ago by one of the inventors, as its method is somewhat similar to something that I've been doing for over 25 years. He asked for my thoughts and permission for its release, as the similarities in methods are real close. I gave permission, as long as there would be a proper credit within the product, and he assured me that there would be. I'd like to know if anyone knows if indeed there was proper crediting within this project. Thanks.

Hey John, Nathan here. Yes, you are credited with similar but unreleased work with the instructions. As always, love your work!
Posted: Feb 7, 2013 7:28pm Anybody with questions about the product let me know. I'm happy to help determine if this is something that would fit your act! I created the piece to get around some costuming issues and to make the birds more comfortable. It's hot down here in New Orleans! |

Hi, so it works with normal harness as well?
Hi Nathan, so I understand from reading and watching they are pockets sewn to a cloth a la jacket. Can you explain what is special about it? I'm asking because I'm interested in the product. |

Good to hear back from you,
The piece simply allows for both IH and bag style productions while freeing up yourself. This allows for some productions that would not otherwise be possible...check out the video for just a handful of ideas. If you do a classical method dove act, you can add 4 more doves to your act without looking larger and stiff. I've heard lay people say things like 'I don't know how he stuffed all those birds all over him!' Even after seeing some really great acts...so the ability to make it obvious you're not hiding them on you is a fun concept I think. The method is simple, but the piece is innocuous on stage. The piece itself is a combination of an altered version of Rich's 'the table the world awaited' and the hand tailoring (well, making from scratch) by my partner, Morgan Tsu-Raun. While not complex in method, each piece requires several hours to create, and the result is just an innocent prop used on stage. |

This looks good...but it seem the receptable table is too low/too short..it is possible to make it higher?
P/S: Nak...r you one of the stage contestant playing the saxaphone/jukebox at the SAM 06 magic convention in Louisville, if yes,..I am the stage conestant from Sin doing the bird act |

Here is Rich Hill's website, where his tables are mentioned, they are 35.5 inches tall. Most magic side tables are 32 inches high. So this table with the standard top of 16"x24" should work well for most people, as it will be like the standard center tables in magic. On most average height men, it should come to just short of weight height.
http://www.richhillsillusionshop.com/tables.htm I believe Nak's body movement of stooping was because of his chosen dove methods more then the height of the table. If there was standard dove production with a silk and bag, then it would have been different moves. Having said that, remember - when this is used in conjunction with other forms of dove productions. It would not be as noticeable. Jacketless Dove Production page: http://www.richhillsillusionshop.com/jacketless.htm |

Yes Joe, I had the saxophone act - good to hear from you again! Thanks for sharing the links and your thoughts as well Bill! You address a very reasonable issue that I experimented with very much in the creation of the prop. My goal in a variety of the productions was to motivate my body language downward (such as when kicking up the dove or sweeping down to catch a bubble or balloon). After doing the demos, we actually did raise the height of the table 3 inches to 30" (still lower than Rich's regular tables) so that you can do the productions with no stooping (I'm 5'9").
I'm not sure of Rich's ability to offer custom sizes, but feel free to shoot him an email through his site. You can also PM me if you'd like to discuss table heights in more detail. |

Rather, I'll let everybody on here know what we can do about different sizes once I get word back from Rich.

Alright! There are 3 column heights available 40", 32" and 29". Add about an inch for the overall table height (41, 33, and 30). Custom sizes are available for an additional cost. Hope that helps!
