I just received a set of balls for my chop cup and got an unexpected surprise. Cannot reveal the surprise, but I can say it's necessary and very well done. Much happier with this purchase because of the surprise that everyone could use.
RNT-2 has the best service! Keith Mitchell |

!!!!Really!
I am considering about which cup to purchase. Van Dokkum's and RNT's are both condidates. It seems really facinating to get a set from RNT2 |

I have heard good things about Van Dokkum's but just like Bret Sherwood cups are made in Europe. No, I do not have anything against europeans, it's just I am accustom to ordering things inside the USA where I live.
I like to receive my stuff as quickly as possible, so if I order from Europe I am assuming it is going to take some time which I don't want to do. My balls from RNT-2 arrived a few days after I placed my order, I just love speedy service. They do charge more than RNT-2 for their cups, and I can see that RNT-2 has a bigger selection of cups to choose from. Even when RNT-2 is out of stock they still have a bigger selection. Therefore, RNT-2 has more satisfactory service for me. The decorative Sterling Silver cups from Sherwood is something I would really love to have, but whenever they have them in stock I just can't afford them. Have fun... Keith |

I will add my praises for RNT2... I have quite few Cups (3 Cup sets and Chop Cups), the majority of them being from RNT2 purchased during the Jake and Donnie era. I have no complaints whatsoever, and as a manufacture, RNT2 wins my recommendation as being the best (within the magic community and outside).
I do not have a set of Van Dokkum Cups; however I have never read a disparaging remark regarding them. They are CNC machined rather than spun... my preference are for spun Cups. There is something about a spun Cup seeming more special and old world that I like... plus I have a liking for cooper Cups, the feel, the smell and how they turn brown with age. Before you purchase any Cups, do your best to see if you find another magi that will let you take them for a test spin. They all have a different feel to them, their weight, balance and such. Also take into consideration what size balls you want to work with and the size of the final load. My favorite and go to RNT2 Cups are the JES Squatty 2 and PF Cups. I prefer to use 7/8 inch balls and limes or Ammar Fab Fruit for final loads. Good luck, Bruce |

Having been European-born myself and a customer of Van Dokkum, I will highly recommend his products if you ever have the opportunity to purchase them - they are very much worth it!
However, I now live in the U.S. and I really enjoy RnT2 - Donnie Buckley does a wonderful job and as has been mentioned many times before, the products are absolutely astounding, superbly made and the customer service is beyond your wildest expectation. If something ever goes wrong, or if you have any questions about how to fix or repair things (like a surface of a Benson Bowl worn by use, if it matters to you), RnT2 is there for you and will help you in every way possible. |

Donnie radiates pure class.
His customer service is superlative and he is one of the most ethical magic suppliers I have ever dealt with. So sayeth a very satisfied customer.

I've never had that problem, Either I'm "known" or what you've heard is unfounded rumor.

LIKE A BARBER! --His best "ad" is a HAPPY AND SATISFIED CUSTOMER!!! I've had no dealings with RNT2 Donnie Buckley, but all that I've heard of him has been VERY GOOD.
Remember the old line used by actors to express different meanings with the same words??? >>>"WHERE did you get that haircut?"<<< >>>"Where did you get THAT haircut?"<<<

I've dealt with both Auke van Dokkum and Donnie Buckley. I have no complaints regarding either of them. Sometimes it takes a while to get something from Auke, especially if it is a custom order. But I think everyone in the field knows this, and it is part of doing business with him.
Both of them make very high quality cups. Donnie has a wider range of cups, and a much broader span of prices. But if all you are looking for is price, then you know what to do.

Wow, you stay away from the Café for a while and you miss a lot!
What Keith is talking about when he refers to the "unexpected surprise" that was included with his balls, is a tool I now provide with the Chopped Balls that allows you to adjust them with more ease. James Caldwell, Ph.D. (and his wife Sue), whom I met at TAOM in 2011, showed me this particular tool, which he was using, and I loved it. If you know James, you might have a good idea what industry this tool's original purpose was created for. He re-purposed it as a tool to adjust the balls. I finally got off my duff and found a source for the tool where I can get them in large quantities and give them away with the balls. Thank you all for the kind words. Donnie |

I did not feel entitled to reveal that information and felt maybe certain people already had an idea of what I was talking about anyway. The one thing that really impressed me was the instruction card, which was very easy to follow, and for the first time I now know how to adjust the ball properly. I get tired of receiving magic products that come with flimsy instructions or no instructions at all. Anyway, there is always room for improvement and Donnie Buckely from RNT-2 has proven that.
Have fun folks, |

I'll admit that I have missed quite a bit, but I've been back a few times. It hasn't changed a lot. Kind of like Jim Riser's web site.
I forgot. I'm not supposed to use language like that on the Café.

Donnie supplies among the best crochet balls that I have seen. The range of colors is prolific, and the quality of the stitching and weight are perfect. The Mora/Vernon wand spin is a snap with these crochet balls. If you're looking for crochet balls, now is the time to meet Donnie.
