Do the Ammar scarves for this effect have a name brand. I have the DVD but trouble locating the very sheer scarf. Any help that could lead me to sourcing it locally would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Dartagnan

I found mine in Thrift Stores - sometimes as part of silk gown. Try the sleepwear sections.

I found one at a thrift store, too. I've always liked Osmosis. I'm no good at it just yet, and I have not performed it for anyone, but it's fun to practice.

How sheer is right? Also the weave of the fabric is important yeah? I was going by the " looks the same whether one or two layers" test

I understand that the material used is like one of those scarfs usually associated with what elderly ladies used to be seen wearing. They used to be very cheap and plentiful, but I haven't seen them in any of the stores that used to carry them. Must be out of style. Sheer material can be had that looks the same, but, I'm not sure about the texture of what's out there. Maybe keep an eye out at a Goodwill store or others of that sort for a super-sheer scarf.

David:

Chris Power's "Coins Thru Silk" performance and explanation is on a old, quite rare video from 1999 called "Laid Back Too".

I'm not exactly sure if this is exactly what you're asking but, the title of the original video with Power's "Coins Thru Silk" routine on it, along with several other routines is, "Laid Back Too." I know because I have it. Hope this helps clarify things.
