Let's get serious it did not matter who won the election, but the man who won will get all the credit for the economic recovery, and the winner in this case was the democrats. If Romney won the republicans would get all the credit for the economic recovery, and they would be in the drivers seat. Also in order for the republican party to beat Hillary Clinton in 2016 they would first have to exhume Abraham Lincoln to run against her.

You may have a point the republican party is dead set against the American economy succeeding during this presidents administration. With a 22% approval rate the congress will look a lot different in 2014.

Vick,
I actually had a very good 2012 season. While I have shows lining up quite well for future months, things just seem a little slow for me RIGHT NOW. I still blame myself for this due to a number of things I'm working on that just haven't gone LIVE yet. Al, I want to watch my step here, as I don't want to get too political. Clinton could very well win the next presidential election. Hey, it's a crazy world. But just like the last time Clinton thought she had it in the bag, Obama came along and she and the other Deomocats watched in horror as "their candidate" lost. So again, anything can happen and that's what makes politics interesting. Anyone who thinks we're in a recovery mode isn't living in the real world. Right now America is like some teenager living off credit cards and then waking up one day and being horrified to discover a huge bill with a 24% interest rate. In my opinion, we're just one step away from becoming another Greece. The reason we haven't seen this yet is that our economey keeps getting proped up with stimulus money. Trust me, our day is coming and I think we're going to see well before 2016. Unemployment here is staggering and the only reason why it looks smaller than it really is because folks have just stopped looking for a 40 hour a week jobs. If you counted these folks, the US unemployment rate would register at about 17% which is just mind-numbing. Add to that the number of USA employers who are cutting back hours - thanks to Obamacare. Al, read today's (2/29/13) edition of the Wall Street Journal and see this one article about the "29 Niners." All the food industries are now just starting to reduce work hours so they won't have to pay the Obamacaretax penalty. I don't believe the tax starts until 214, but they're now just starting to adjust for it by hiring part-time workers, something the Democrats and the CBO never anticipated (or didn't want to admit to). In the news this week a leaked email from Walmart executives said they wondered what happened to all their customers. It seems like that 2% payroll tax and high cost of gasoline (nearing $4 a gallon during winter -not summer months) is taking a toll on their customers. Don't kid yourself here. So while most of us don't cater to Walmart clientele, even folks making better than $100k a year are just starting to feel the pinch. And now with the sequestration about the hit next week, and that seems like a sure thing, don't think for one minute that people aren't going to start holding back because they don't know what's going to happen next. So there, I didn't go political. Al, enjoy our upcoming recession. Gerry |

Good lord Gerry stop watching the news. Greece is a whole different ballpark. And for the record, Obamacare is basically plagiarized version of Romneys. It didn't matter who got elected.
What Walmart doesn't get is that there is a large portion of society that are fed up with them. And, thanks to the internet, can find out about different resources. Their dirty laundry is out to dry The recession overshadowed businesses utilizing new resources to cut costs. It's also overshadowed how much it empowers the little guy. Take advantage while you can |

The stock market has gone from 6,000 to 14,000 in four years, the unemployment went form 10% to 7.8%. If you keep watching FOX news they will tell you that everything bad that has ever happened in this country has been caused by the black man in the white house, give me a break. The sky is not falling

Ken I am right there with you. I am just sitting back and enjoying the show.
although I will mention that I side with Gerry and he is spot on as to what is going on in this country right now. and it is a fact that biz are cutting hours to avoid the obamacare fiasco coming to a neighborhood near you soon!! as for me and my shows 2012 started off rough but I put a plan into place and worked it. worked it a lot! I mean I really really worked it. and I saw the second half of 2012 shoot thru the roof. 2013 is doing very well again working my plans. as they say plan your work and work your plan. this summer I am not teaching my summer magic camp for the first time in almost 15 years - why because I am getting ready for a national tour. so I am booking more shows for the summer as they take up less time then teaching magic camp. thus allowing me more time to prepare for my upcoming tour starting in September. I am getting back to my roots of taking control of the situation and stop worrying about everyone else. I am focused on my job at hand and how I can improve it. it takes hard work. a few years ago when I went deaf I gave up and had a pitty party for myself. then in 2010 I pulled myself together . the damage had been done but as I said I started making plans and working them. so regardless who is in office regardless who controls the congress YOU need to be out there working and making the contacts and following up and pounding the pavement. only YOU decide if you move forward or fall behind. now I am going to watch some cartoons. I have an odd day off. they don't come often so am going to enjoy it. then its back to work!! sam

Al,
You conveniently forgot to include your buddy Sam's name on your post, as apparently he's seeing the same thing we're seeing. (And by the way, Sam that was an inspiring post. Thanks for that.) A lot of this reminds me of that old saying, "Who are you going to believe me, or you own eyes?" :) Gerry |

Danny,
That is so funny because The Wall Street Journal had a story about that same thing this past week. They said a certain "someone" keeps singing the song, "Tomorrow." Boy did I laugh out loud when I read that. Gerry |
