http://owenmagic.com/Illusions/Steel_Bar/steel_bar.html it seems impossible and has a stronger effect , but never seen this performed anywere , if anybody had seen this or have info about it , your advice is appreciated a lot . |

So a magician walks into a bar...
Man there should be some great punchlines for that, but I'm not funny enough to write one. That effect *does* look interesting, though. Were you able to find any footage or people who have used it? |

You're looking at basically the same effect. The photo is deceiving ... there is a panel or box that goes between the frame for the penetration to happen.
The Owen version is going to be very expensive. I'm sure you would be more than happy with Smoky Mountains version. Dan can customize it to your needs. Steve |

Actually, while both illusions are similar in theme the methodology is entirely different. I met a gentleman who was part of the creation of the Owens effect and the strength is that the Steel Bar is put on display in the lobby before the show. It can be checked out, touched, tugged, etc. It is a STEEL BAR. People are invited to sign the bar with a sharpie before the penetration takes place. In the right hands this is not just a good trick. It's a miracle.

Youre true , but for me the main difference is while its stronger in effect the steel bar illusion is not a one man illusion .

Dahih,
You're right. If I remember correctly the steel bar requires at least 2 or 3 people to perform. It's definitely a stage piece for a professional team. |
