If you could do something nice for humanity what would it be? And it shouldn't cost much if any.

I want to facilitate, from neighborhood to neighborhood, this:
"What appears to be called for in any given region, microregion or cluster is the involvement of a growing number of people in a collective process of learning, one which is focused on the nature and dynamics of a path that conduces to the material and spiritual progress of their villages or neighbourhoods. Such a process would allow its participants to engage in the generation, application, and diffusion of knowledge, a most potent and indispensable force in the advancement of civilization." Kam

Kam,
To accomplish that, it is important to realize that the application and propagation of existing knowledge is invariably accompanied by the generation of new knowledge — much of which takes the form of insights acquired through experience.

To others, I too, don't have a clue what it means but it sounds nice.

The new era of governance revolves around collaboration, not competition. Community betterment results..... Then I move on to the next neighborhood.... :) Kam

Cliché response, Dennis. Why'd you ask the question in the first place?

Good one, Al. And Kam, I'd say internet access has great potential in providing your sought spread of information and garnered learning and knowledge. In fact, it, for one, is already out there and working in that capacity, big time. Your raising the point here has sent out another ripple on the way, good for you. You did something nice for humanity, today. That simple. And Dennis has unwittingly facilitated it.

Surprisingly, this is not an easy task. I didn't realize how my life was so intertwined with "War" (Vietnam), Firefighting (Personal destruction) reading the political battles that can't be won, etc., etc., etc. I was wonder what others did to make others lives more joyful/happier. One thing for sure, presenting magic to children does have it's rewards.

It is estimated that it would cost somewhere between $10B and $30B to provide a reliable source of clean drinking water to everyone in the world who does not have it now. The OECD countries total about 1.2 B people. Let's levy a one-time tax of $25 per person in the OECD and give the world the gift of sustainable clean water! I'll pay 10x my share.

I walk blindfolded to spread the message "When I'm blindfolded, I cannot see the colour of your skin, I can only feel the love in your heart."
To ask that we all close our eyes to the skin deep differences between us and try to understand others from the heart. Theirs and ours. Btw, great thread Dennis Michael!
