I noticed that my thread, helping a magic shop owner to sell his remaining stock at super-drastic prices just disappeared (in Magic Tricks For Sale or Trade). Can someone tell me if I did something against the rules or was there another reason for removing the thread?

It didn't disappear, it was just moved to the tricky business forum where it belonged. Tricks and effects for sale is for individual members to buy and sell a few items from their collection.

Thanks, Dave. I appreciate the explanation. I just saw a bunch of threads offereing deals on new products and thought that was the place to post such things. I'll know better next time. My apology and, again thanks for letting me know.
