Hi
I'm thinking of picking this DVD up but I've read it doesn't work very well with the new bills. Is this a real problem and should I avoid this effect ? Thanks

Last try. I read a couple of reviews for this effect, and some of them said that the new style bills, don't work so good for making a greed gimmick. They also said to try and get a hold of the older style, bills to make up the gimmick. I'd like to know if anyone has made a Greed Gimmick with the newer bills and did it cause a problem.

I love Greed! I have had my gimmick made up for five years and it is still in great condition. I have never tried it with the newer bills, but I don't see that as a problem. It is pretty easy to get a hold of them and they are still used commonly. no one has ever mentioned to me that the bills were old. I say get it. Its a great visual affect and once it is built it is very easy to do.

Hey Ralph, never bills work fine for greed. the $10 and $20 work a bit better with the older bills. mostly, you will just break in your bills with it. I do Greed every day with great reactions.

If you can do a folded palm switch you can "borrow" a spectator's bill, usually helps to allay suspicion.

I'm working on my gimmick for greed. The double sided tape is not holding. As far as the $20 and $10 that you cut up, my bank said they couldn't take them anymore unless the whole bill is there. They gave me the address to the federal reserve to send the money to for replacement. I know this is to combat counterfeiting but makes it a headache for making gimmicks like this.

I would try a different bank until one takes it.

It does seem like you might not be able to use new bills because $10's are pink and $20's are green. But I believe you could alter the handling.
I have a question about constructing the gimmick, I posted in the Secret Sessions - http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......forum=37 |
