It has everything to do with the argument. The initial line or argument dealt with exposure videos leading to magicians being "forced" into creating new, exciting, engaging material. And my tolerance for such a practice.
It was followed up by Andrew's clear taste for the old "played out" routines. The point of my comment was to make a connection- maybe if you tried some new, exciting, engaging material, you wouldn't be shown up by a dog on a bike. Maybe the old stuff ain't workin'. I also wasn't clear as to how a one year member of the AMA who has dogs riding circles around him at the castle is capable to speak on behalf of the entire magic castle, or if he just liked using the royal "we" in his posts. |

Now you've asked where I perform, presumably to provide the point that I shouldn't criticize if I'm not performing at venues such as The Magic Castle. However, to take your presumed point and re-direct it to the topic of this thread, don't you think that it can be applied here? Andrew is criticizing the work of Brian Brushwood- and what work does Andrew do? Spongeball bunnies for kids at the Magic Café while a dog on a motorcycle runs laps around him is nowhere near the size of the career of Brushwood. His criticism of Brushwood is as fair as mine of him (though honestly, I was just citing the writings of another in a RELEVANT post more than a criticism). To imply that I can't criticize another is nothing short of hypocritical. Are we done here? I'll let you get the last word. Try to avoid foul language. |

Oh my ****ing god, what horrible motive, what kind of despicable human being IS this Brushwood? No need to stoop to personal insults, attacking my sense of morality, which I would argue is infinitely superior to every single member of this board, well, at least it's the only one that's actually consistent.

And a dog on a motorcycle will trump just about anything. I ain't gonna compete with that. I say "we" as I am a member of the Castle. It's "our" club. Ask other members, they will concur. Should you ever make it out to the west coast, I'd be happy to have you as my guest. You'll see that magic, even the routines you've seen dozens of times, is alive and thriving.

So you mean that out of 55,000 members, you are the only one that has consistent morality?

The BB book test does require one to ask the spectator to think of an animal. This could seem odd to some spectators.
