I remember seeing these a while back both for a lot and a little amount of money. Does anyone know who makes this, a silk cabby but with an extra load so that the box can fill up with sponge balls or other production item after doing all the silk cabby moves.

There is basically 2 designs for the Silk Cabby, one with a moving part and one without, but I never heard of an extra load. If you know the working, it would kind of be impossible to do this, if I am wrong, I would be interested in one as well.
Silk Caddy: http://www.abbottmagic.com/Abbotts-Silk-......addy.htm You are thinking of the Jap Box aka Silk Production box. Some of these come single and double. I believe this one is single load: http://www.abbottmagic.com/Abbotts-Jap-B......oryId=-1 This one I believe is double load: http://www.abbottmagic.com/Silk-Producti......obox.htm |

He also might be thinking of a Silk Wonder box which some were made with an extra load.

The one I am thinking of was a little bigger than a regular silk cabby. The extra load I believe was in the top and when released would flood the cabby with sponge balls or other production items. However it was still basically a silk cabby with the 2 holes and all the silk moves normally done with a silk cabby. The cost was several hundred dollars. They were not mass produced but made by someone who crafted these as a specialty.

There are techniques you can use to introduce new loads as you are removing current ones. These techniques work regardless of the container, whether borrowed hat, egg bag or silk cabby. Pull a silk out and insert a bunch of spongeballs at the same time. Hoffmann is full of such ideas because they were in general use in our magical past and only got lost when we began to depend on magic stores to do all our thinking for us.

Are you thinking of the Creekmore packing crate bops? It is a fully routined extra load -- only made by ther Late Abe Creekmore. If you - contact me via PM so we can discuss "extra loads."
