Fifty rapes. Ten murders. Two identities. One man. From 1976 to 1986, one of the most violent serial criminals in American history terrorized communities throughout California. He was little known, never caught, and might still be out there. Now a determined investigator, a retired detective, and a group of online obsessives are on the hunt to track him down More power to them. |

They've got this guys (1) DNA (2) hand writing (3) shoe size (4) blood type (5) voice (6) race (7) approximate age (8) approximate location based on movements (9) approximate height and (10) a composite that probably resembles him. It seems to me hard to believe that the powers that be do not know who it is or was already.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

It seems most likely that the guy was never arrested for another offense, at least not after DNA samples were taken as a matter of routine booking procedures. Since the crime spree stopped in 1986 I think he's probably either dead or was incapacitated in an accident or through disease. Or perhaps he ended up ODing or becoming a murder victim himself.
Hope they succeed in their search, but the trail seems pretty cold. Of course they could always hire that psychic in Oregon that Slim was loudly touting in a recent thread in the Penny forum. |

Few jokes make me uncomfortable. That one did.

Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley. "...as we reason and love, we are able to hope. And hope enables us to resist those things that would enslave us." |

Yep. That too. But I'm proud of some of the research I did about that crime and the so-called "psychic."

Sorry it is a bug with me that I can't shake 20 years later from cop work.
Most of those threads he is involved in are disturbing and ridiculous. It is why I never go into the Penny forum. Also I have not made the transition into reading smiley face emotions. Can't bring myself to think that way.
