I recently purchased a few items from http://www.carlyletouch.com - a JOL "Informer" Jaks Wallet, Carlyle's Crystals and The Working Mentalist Dictionary.

JOL Jaks Wallet - I know there have already been several reviews for this particular wallet, but I wanted to throw in my two cents. Having owned quite a few peek wallets, I can honestly say that the JOL Jaks has become my new favorite. I have one other Jaks, but the quality and craftsmanship of the JOL definitely make it stand out. I believe this was mentioned in another thread, but I'd like to reiterate: the pictures shown on the website are of the prototype wallet. The version that I received looks more refined and has a very smooth finish. Aesthetics aside, the wallet is excellent and the instructions provided are clear and concise. Ed gives you multiple ideas for obtaining the peek and, better still, explains the psychology behind using a peek wallet. He also explains this on his Carlyle Touch (Volume 2) DVD.

Carlyle's Crystals - I'm a book test junkie; I'll admit it. I also knew what these were going in as I owned Silver Bullet Lite quite a while back. The main reason I got these was to be able to perform a (seemingly) impromptu book test with a borrowed book. You are able to do that and quite a bit more. Ed describes how to perform a LD test in his instructions as well as how to properly use/handle the crystals.

The Working Mentalist Dictionary - admittedly, I haven't had a chance to delve into this, but I did examine the dictionary and read through the instructions. The basic effect, as mentioned on the website, is that you have an audience member open a pocket-sized dictionary and read a word on the top line. He or she closes the dictionary and hands it back to you. You are now able to reveal the word. Carlyle mentions that he uses this primarily for pre-show, but it can be used standalone if you wish.

I am posting this not because I was pleased with the items I purchased (although I was), but rather because I wanted to share my experience. Within a few hours of placing my order, Ed sent me an email thanking me for my purchase. He was also gracious enough to send me a couple of effects free of charge. If that wasn't enough, he offered to get on Skype and talk about the effects once I received them. Talking to Ed about mentalism was a real treat. Not only did he go over the effects I purchased and explain alternative handling/tips, he shared some performance/presentation tips that were worth far more than what I paid for the effects themselves. To be honest, it almost felt like I was attending a lecture, but tailored to me and with no fee! Anyhow, enough rambling. My point is: if you've been on the fence about purchasing something from Ed, take the plunge. I haven't been disappointed with any of my purchases and everything I've received has been a great value. More importantly, he's a great guy and a pleasure to deal with.

Best,

Tony

It is an honor to know Ed, he is a true gentleman. I agree with you Tony - you will always receive more for your money with Ed because he is personally involved and cares.

Just my thoughts, Solarzar

I've got to jump in and endorse this thread. Ed sells some amazing stuff but the best part is the chance to speak with the man himself. It's never just a package in the mail with Ed; it's a thank you, a check-in to make sure you're happy with your purchase, and a chance to talk to the man himself about the Art. How often do you get to talk to a man who called Harry Blckstone Sr 'uncle' and knew Dunninger? I have a bunch of stuff from Ed that I use regularly but I'd buy a glass of water for the chance to discuss it with him. Luckily, he's as generous with his time and friendship as he is with sharing his knowledge and experience. It's been a pleasure to spend time and have him as a friend.

I agree with all the above, not only are his products great, but his service is on par. When sandy hit a while back, Ed kept me updated on the product I had ordered. Not only was he possibly in the line of fire from the storm, he also kept concern on getting me my order. In all honesty, that was the last thing I was worrying about but Ed being the gentleman he is, made it work.
