Hi.
I was woundering if anyone knows a source for chopped 20 sided dice? I love love love the chop cup and I want to put together a routine using 20 sided dice for my gamer friends. However I can not for the life of me find anything online, and the guys at the local magic store were at a lost. So yeah, any help would be greatly appreicated. |

It's going to be something you make yourself I think. Pretty simple though. A drill, some filler and paint....

Yeah, I figured it might come to that.

If you want to go for a regular die instead of a many sided gamnig one then James Riser makes great ones.

I've seen thoes, and I've been thinking about picking some up. The thing is I want to use a oversized 20 sided as the final load, and I'm not visual appeale with a normal D6 as it would with a D20. Well, one way to find out I suppose.

Get one of the D20 with a symbol on the "20" (I think MTG bundles them with their "fat packs"). Build a small jig to hold the die so it won't spin then drill the symbol out, insert your gaff and wax the hole closed. Experiment with the depth needed first (using wax to back it out of the hole if necessary) and when you are finish fill in the hole with epoxy. Leave a very slight cavity and then fill the cavity with crayon wax that matches the other numbers. It will take some experimentation but it isn't difficult...

Or you could just call Frank! (Damn it, those crayons don't have the same effect that the magic markers do when you sniff them!)

Don't call me. I don't gaff dice at all, with one exception.
I make all the dice for the whip cups I sell. Those are quite swell

I went I went with sleightly's idea of drilling a mtg spin-down counter, and it worked great. I used polymer clay rather than crayon wax to cap the hole and short of picking it up and staring at the spot its bloody undetectable. It helps that I keep the die moving I suppose. If I ever get a working camera I'll post pics, it came out great.
Thanks for the help guys |
