Hi guys,
I bought IT. I don't want to do exposure so I don't write the name but: do I need something else except of IT and wax to ti* it? I actually don't have wax so is Fearson's wax good? And is it worth to buy the $15 version which include 4 colours? Thank's |

Hi Paragon! Welcome to the Café!
So...ya bought some I.T.! Yeah, Fearson has some of the best wax...$15 is a good deal. I think you can get a real good idea of the direction ya want to go, if you get this book: http://www.vikingmagic.com/Invisible%20Thread%20Manual There are also numerous DVD's as well. Really, you don't need an I.T.R. or any fancy gadgets. Keep it simple! Doug |

Disclaimer: I don’t work with IT. I’ve played with it, and it’s not for me. Several friends do amazing things with it, and I understand some of the principles. I’m answering as a “general” magician, not an IT expert.
----- A better question might be, “What kind of Magic do you want to do?” You could use Wax (sure, why not), or depending on the effect, clear adhesive tape, a short pin, a knot, or even nothing at all comes to mind. If you can remember, what were you thinking about when you got the IT? Did you have something specific in mind, or was it simply a “cool magic tool” that you hoped would be useful some day? (I don’t mean that as snarky as it sounds. I’ve been a beginning magician, and we all have some form of a learning curve.) If you’re serious about working with IT, Fearson is one of the most recognized names. I’d be spending money on his instructions. His Vectra or EVE (stretchy Vectra) is becoming an industry standard, and everyone here has at least heard of the Fearson Hookup or Master L*v*t*tion System. When you get to 50 posts, a new forum will appear, “Threads, Reels, and Anchors”, where you can ask more specific questions (and get better quality answers!) Best of luck!
...what if I could read your mind?

At a pinch you can also use blutack, its not as good as wax however.
By failing to prepare, we are preparing to fail.

Fearson's wax is the best I've used. Probably don't need different colors, but it can't hurt.

Good info guys. I've been playing with different IT's and associated props. Wax was one thing that was giving me problems. Thanks.
