A comment was made on another thread about the fact that there wasn't much variation in the chop cup verses the cups and balls. While I agree with this statement, it got me to thinking of all the things I could do. So here's my list as a starting point.
IN THE HANDS:
IN/ON the CUP:

That is a pretty comprehensive list, Kirk.

I have more; I just ran out of time. Perhaps a few others will share. I have omitted a big item. ;-)

The whole final load thing. But that is an entire topic in itself.

Ball with shot glass and silk IS NOT DON ALAN'S ... it is Ron Wilson's (and used also by Larry Jennings).
Cup becomes SOLID. Cup penetrates table top. Cup changes color. Cups shrinks.

See Ron Wilson's routine in the Uncanny Scott book. He manages to get the most, maybe besides Paul Gertner, out of the prop. Also see David Roth's routine with the Chop Cup...he promoted some very unusual work at the time that his came out. Gregg

Levitate the cup.
Make the cup turn over by itself. Make the cup grow. Make the cup change color.

John Bannon's Chop2 to me has the most sensible presentation without the where is it MO.
A whole lot of thought went into that routine and everyone should read it and understand why he does what he does, to get rid of the pitfalls of most routines. It's in the Impossibilia book.

Using a cup with a handle adds many sleights and moves not possible with a standard cup, plus ring on rope effects and linking cups, and ...
my most successful "extension of theme" (audience reaction wise) was using a bawl and handled cup from a camping set. This allowed a combination of Benson Bowl and one cup effects using fake marshmallows. Since these items have a metal core both can be "chopped" by adding a magnet at various spots (and removed). Used a spoon as a wand, of course.
