Some good ideas here. I was thinking of buying another set and have ten baby bunnies appear. However, this would probably cause the spectator to drop some babies on the floor. It would also take up more space in your pocket. The idea of using fishing line is good. However, when produced the spectator will probably notice the bunnies strung together and to me it will make them look less natural. So for me, I just stick to the original set of bunnies with nothing added. I get get reactions as it is. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. What ever works for you. Cheers!

I've had nobody notice extra. You don't have a frame of reference for what it feels like.

Couple thoughts:
Sponge bunnies were my close-up mainstay for decades. I used to use EZ Magic's "Peter Rabbit" set because (A) it was cheap and (B) it allowed me to use Daryl Martinez's opening (they can look like chicks or rabbits) Because they're cheap, I'd always have extras available That means no need to string the babies together. If they get dirty, trash 'em (OUT of the spectators' sight - makes you look insensitive otherwise silly as that sounds). But having the final load EXPLODE out of their hand was always a showstopper - can't get the same explosion when they're strung up. Go for cheaper baby bunnies, is my advice; Last point: properly presented, there's a nice long "comfort zone" between when you've loaded the rabbits and babies and when they're finally revealed. I used that time to inch away from the spectators so the attention is all on the spec's fist. I don't know why, but that amplified the reactions. Possibly because the magic happened with me well out of arm's reach? |

The babies are an excellent ending, but what's wrong with one more surprise in making the jumbo bunny appear? There is so much misdirection when the babies appear why not use it? I keep my jumbo bunny in my close up kit along with my balloon pump. While everyone is laughing at the babies I walk over to my kit grab the jumbo. No one notices. If its not the right situation to do the jumbo finale I just skip it. Still a great ending.

One other thing. If you load at the end with tons more bunnies or a big huge bunny, if you do the trick for someone with small hands, or a child, this will be a problem as well. Sometimes less is more. I just stick with the 5 baby bunnies at the end. Cheers!
