***!!!
Anyone else watching the "Ultimate Fighter?" I see my shows a day or two later, so I haven't seen the latest episode, but I saw Hall's fight from last night on youtube (all like, 10 seconds of it!). He is coming across as a bit of a jerk on the show, but those are ridiculous conditions to live in, but this guy is unbelievable! He fights at 185, which means he might end up fighting Anderson Silva. THAT is something I would love to see.

I did see the fight. He definately looks like the favorite at this point. His first fight, wih the head kick KO, was even more devastating. I don't think he's ready for the likes of Anderson Silva yet but his future looks very bright at this point.

Yeah, that kick was awesome.
I agree he probably isn't ready for Silva yet, but I'd love to see their styles at some point. I like his full-contact karate style (there are some fights on youtube of him fighting in those kickboxing competitions where they wear gi pants). Maybe it's that karate was the first martial art that I did, or maybe it's the 80's martial arts movies as a kid, but there is something satisfying about the style of a super-skilled karate style fighter.

Yes, I love Machida!
I haven't seen most of his recent fights, but his style is amazing. I also love his philosophy of fighting, to me it's true martial arts; deliver the most damage and receive as little as possible. He talked in interview about the history of people fighting samurai sword, where trading punches is suicide, and how he takes that into the ring with him.

It takes a real man's man to be able to drink his own pee. Whatever else happens in Machida's career, no one can take that accomplishment away from him.

HOLY ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you see Hall's fight last night!!!????? It was crazy! His opponent was trying to take him down the whole time, finally got it in the second round and IMMEDIATELY got caught in a Kimura. With just 20 seconds left, Hall drops the Kimura, goes for punches and proceeds to essentially KNOCK HIME OUT from the bottom!!! (It was more of using punches to sweep from the guard and THEN knock him out ...all in like 15 seconds!). To say that my jaw dropped is a SUPREME understatement!

Just watched it. Pretty wild. I'm not sure his opponent was trying to take him down the whole time. Looked more like he was just trying to defend from getting destroyed with punches and kicks. Man, Uriah was fast! I really like the guy he'll be facing but I don't really see him or anyone else being able to beat him at this point.
There was one scene where he acted a bit of a jerk but other than that, I thought that he's come across fairly humble considering his talents. |

You're right, he wasn't actively trying to get the take down the whole time (or anything else really); trying to survive as you said. But the strategy on his side was to get a take down; his corner was yelling it the whole time anyways, even he wasn't able to do it for a long time.
It seems to me like he should walk through Kelvin, but I actually am curious now that Kelvin seems to be walking through everyone else; although no near as impressively as Hall! Yeah, he definitely seemed like a jerk early on but I think fighters are going to have strong, often conflicting, personalities and I think the whole TUF house living situation is specifically designed to cause drama for the show. I also remember listening to the audio commentary one time on a documentary on Mark Kerr and the guys were saying that when you follow anyone around 24/7 you can make pretty much anyone look like a saint or like Hitler depending on the editing. I write the early stuff off to the tension and personality conflicts. As far as you can "know" someone from a TV show, he seems like a genuinely good guy to me.

I was impressed with the way Hall kept working even though he couldn't seem to crack Andrews early on. He wasn't landing the big KO type shots, so he just kept picking him apart bit by bit. Credit to Andrews for hanging in there. Hall was landing a lot of blows that eventually seemed to accumulate to the point where he was able to sweep Andrews and finish him off. He looked excellent, and it was interetsing to watch him have to work over the course of two rounds instead of another quick KO.

Me too. Before the match, I was wondering how he would do in a longer match. I wasn't disappointed.
