What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about? Smile

My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums.

OK, now I'm going to be sad for the rest of the day.
"There's no time to lose," I heard her say.
"Catch your dreams before they slip away."
"Dying all the time, lose your dreams and you could lose your mind.
Ain't life unkind?"

Couldn't wait to get home from school to watch the Mickey Mouse Club and , in particular, Annette. I was smitten from the beginning.

I'm very sad today.

Very sad. She now joins Don Grady, another Mouseketeer, who passed away recently.

RIP

She turned out to be a very nice woman.

One of the first 45s I owned was "Pineapple Princess." Buena Vista label, wish I could remember what was on the B-Side.

How could you not love Annette; she was America's sweetheart.

From a song called "I Saw it on TV" by John Fogerty:

"The A-Bomb fears, Annette had ears, I lusted in my heart ..."

Here is the whole song, a story of the 50's through the Beatles, Vietnam, the Moon landing, and Watergate:

May your memory be eternal Annette. I was too young to have watch you but, you meant so much to so many

Hey when I was six years old I was watching Winky Dink, drawing pictures and learning the ABCs. At least you had the presence of mind to recognize a future sex symbol! I love it!

Winky Dink and you! (Remember the theme song?)

BTW- For those interested, MeTV is airing a two-hour tribute to Annette Funicello at 1PM Sunday (Noon Central). It consists of several episodes of "Make Room for Daddy" in which she was featured as Danny Thomas's guest foreign exchange student. From the previews it looks like these were filmed while she was in her early to mid-teens.

Good thoughts,

Bob

We had a children's line back in the 50's .... "step on a crack, break your mothers back; step on a line, you love Annette." still do. Lynn
