Bob Johnston passed away on April 2, 2013. I remember when my old friend Bob Johnston joined the magic Café staff he PMed me and told me that he accepted the position because if being a Café staff member was good enough for me it was good enough for him too. A few years ago Bob had a friend drive him to a local magic club meeting to see me compete. I will really miss my old buddy Bob Johnston.

I suspect that the magic Café staff doesn't know about Bob's death. I got the news just a few minutes ago from Bob's son Mike on facebook. Bob was a real fun guy who was nearly blind, and his wife drove him everywhere.

May he rest in peace. I am sorry that you have lost an old buddy Al and thank you for telling us.

When Bob attended the IBM ring 6 close up competition to see me compete he asked me to save him a seat in the first row because Bob couldn't see more than 6 feet in front of his face, and when he showed up he was accompanied by an unknown magician who decided to compete at the last minute and won the d**n competition, so Bob not only showed up to see me compete he also brought the guy who kicked my butt that night. I wish I could remember that unknown magicians name, but my memory isn't what it used to be.

Since I'm probably the only one at the magic Café who knew Bob Johnston personally I feel obligated to tell everyone what a charming generous fun loving old magician he was.

Coincidentally, our chiropractor's name is Bob Johnston.

I just remembered the magician who beat me in the close up competition was Dan White. I am clearly not in Dan's league. LOL

Bob will be missed by us all.

Friends and family of Robert (Robin) Johnston...
There will be a burial service for my father, Bob Johnston, on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Riverside Cemetery in Toms River, New Jersey. There will not be a church service or reception, rather this will be a short service at the cemetery to pay respects to my father as his as his remains are put to rest. I will share a few words at the service and will greet any friends who would like to attend. The address of the cemetery is 1001 New Jersey Route 166, Toms River, New Jersey, 08753, and the location of the burial site will be near the flagpole. Thank you all for your support, condolences and well-wishes.
