R.I.P. One of the secret treasures of my childhood was a privately pressed LP of a private performance of this masterful storyteller. Wild stuff.

A strange and quirky guy and super funny.

I'm glad he survived to die of natural causes.

The private Jonathan Winters was a very hip old dude, but he covered it up well to protect his old fogey image. I will miss them both.

He was also quite good in serious roles. One of my favorites was the Twilight Zone episode "A Game of Pool," in which he co-starred with Jack Klugman

Yes, that was a great role...

My favorite part of his TV show was when he'd walk through the "attic" and improv with the stuff sitting around.

I believe Robin Williams became the comic genius that he is because of his knowing and working with Jonathan Winters. While Williams' comedy is his own work and his own genius, he drew upon Winters' style of improv in his craft. RIP Jonathan Winters, a great American.
What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about? Smile

My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums.
