Hi!
Normaly I don't like Rope-Routins, till I heard from Steve Bedwell`s "In over your Head" - Act. Its perfect for me, couse I am a Comedy-Magician. But it seems, that this Routine is Out of Stock; my Question: is anyone selling it? Tanks - Chris |

If you do a search in this section on ropes, you will find some other people looking for this routine as well. When it came up some time back, I did an extensive search on this and only found Bedwell's video, at least I thought it was at the time, most the comments on the Café say there is no video of the routine that has ever been made or published. It seems is was not that popular, people bought it, but never performed it as it has a lot to do with Steve's personality.
Then someone posted that the text is hard to understand and was looking for clarification, but no one could help. So none of the rope magicians on the Café could not offer any help. I don't believe Bedwell is not a member of the Café as I have never seen a post by him. He is probably working. I can only suggest, once you get 50 posts you can then enter the Let's Make A Deal section of the Café, and post a request for a used copy. It seems that booklet was published many years ago, and Steve Bedwell has no intention of re-publishing it, so it looks like. From what I found this was published back in 2004. So it is long out of print. I called some magic shops that have left it on their web site, and they said their website needs updating, not available any longer. |

Chris:
I have an autographed copy of this booklet from Steve, but I'm not willing to part with it. Best of luck in your efforts to find a copy. Steve told me personally that to his knowledge, there is no video of his routine. He also told me that he has no plans to ever make a video or re-print the booklet. He has moved away from magic and has been a motivational speaker for the past several years. I have attached the link below to his speaking website: http://www.mindcapital.com/ Doug |

Just to add to Bill's post.
Steve is a member here on the Café. He looks in once in a blue moon but very rarely posts anything. I must have missed the thread Bill refers to where someone said they had a problem understanding the text. I have this booklet/routine and it is written about as clearly as I can imagine is possible. I'm not sure what problems were mentioned in the thread Bill refers to but if he can point me to it I'd be happy to help clarify any issues anyone has but I can't even imagine what they might be as, like I say, it's very clearly and all inclusively explained. Steve never made a video of the full routine but years ago when I was round at his place he showed me a video of him performing what was at that time the 'prototype' version of this routine when it was in it's development stage. Even then it was a very funny and brilliant piece of routining... but the finished polished routine is even more amazing and brilliant in its construction. I have also seen a video on youtube of a performer performing a modified and truncated version of Steve's routine. Even in this form it was getting a great reaction (the performer, who I've never met or seen live, appears to be a very accomplished comedy magic act from what I've seen of his show in clips he has posted) To get hold of a copy of the manuscript will be hard as it is no longer in print. You could try contacting Steve directly, a google search will quickly find him, although one of the posts in this thread suggests that might not lead anywhere it still might be worth a try.... otherwise ebay is a good potential source for finding one on sale second hand. Otherwise try putting an ad in the 'wanted' section on Magicweek. You can re place the ad in following weeks if nothing turns up. I hope that has been of some help.

Thanks, Sealegs!
While I watched Youtube for Rope Comedy Routins I found a special one from the "Funnyhypermagic Boy": very funy (i think) and a little bit of crazy (i like this style). don't know if its a Variation of the Bedwell`s Routine, but I think it goes the same Direction. I never heard before of the Funnyhypermagic Boy, but he is very, very professional and it seems, that this is not the first time he is on stage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVEZgfpPX......TQ1HdITA Chris |

@Sealegs, the problem the member was needing help with was working with the assistant, as I remember. I did try to search for it, but could not locate it. I remember it, because I became curious about the routine, and did an extensive search on Steve Bedwell and this booklet. I did find he was doing motivational speaking, but I believe he is using magic with that as well.
