I can't wait to see the Mighty Master in action!

I'm very sure it'll be well worth the wait for Kieron's DVD and as promised, I'll give you all an in-depth review.

If you haven't already ordered Chaotic, what are you waiting for? NEVER under-estimate this DVD because of it's price. I STRONGLY believe that all the folks at RSVP offer excellent value for money.

Kind regards.

I wasn't sure what your post meant until know. I was up until 4 a.m. watching Kieron's last dvd, To the Max. He must have been one of the UK's best kept secrets as I had not heard of him until lately. But I think he has one of the best performing personas/styles I've ever seen.

If Chaotic is anything like To The Max, we'll have one of the best dvd's ever released to the fraternity.

I got this yesterday and watched it all the way through. Firstly and as a book reader predominantly, this is important; kieron is really easy to watch. He has a relaxed slightly mad performing style but people like him. I've watched many dvds and I have to say, some are quite hard to watch because the performance is uneasy. that's definitely not the case here.

So the tricks; well, I know why its called chaotic and that's not a bad thing. There are lots of different things used such as cards, spongeballs, forks and lollipops etc. I think most people will find something they will use, although I'd be surprised if too many people use everything; just because there's a lot of variety. For me there were a few things I really liked but I loved the lollipop idea. So simple, visual and engaging. I will definitely use it, as its such a logical opener.

To summarise, I really enjoyed this, both in terms of the magic and the performance. I don't think kieron would mind me saying, this is not a dvd for move monkeys. Nothing hard to do and nothing particualrly revolutionary. However, what kieron does is takes nice plots amd some original ideas and wraps his own personality and performance around them, which results in some engaging and entertaining magic that clearly works in the real world. In that respect, he reminds me of matthew wright a little bit.

I think its great and really enjoyed watching. Thanks

I got this a couple of days ago, and I believe there is a lot of really astonishing pieces of magic on this dvd, and I can easily see them as real workers in any magicians repertoire. Besides being well produced and well explained, the dvd is pakced with gems. My personal favorites are Card In Orange (its a classic very strong effect made so simple due to the convincing free choice of card, and the corner tear as an identifying card piece) and Stop Kicking Me (a fantastic prediction effect with the chosen card being on a video prediction on your iPhone. Totally free choice of card, I mean any card, and with some real kickers during the effect). These two effects are well worth the price of the DVD, but if you are into metal bending and fire effects you will have much more coming on this DVD.

I highly recommend this - great magic, great DVD.

OK guys, as promised, here's a detailed review of Keiron's latest DVD - Chaotic. Right from the ordering process, straight through to watching all the DVD, here we go Smile

I ordered my Chaotic just before the release date from RSVP and RSVP were very quick to dispatch. I was luckily enough to receive the 10% discount. One thing that doesn't stand well for me is the shipping cost. RSVP are charging £2.99 for a first class, standard delivery, which I think is quite over-priced.

Okay, from the initial start of Kieron's DVD, my first impressions was great. Kieron's natural ability to teach people how the effects are performed in great detail is excellent. His clear diction coupled with his relaxed mannor really makes it easier to learn and to follow.

Moving onto the nine routines. I like most of them. My favourite routine is the mobile phone in balloon, very strong and direct. I do also like Lollipop too. My least favourite effect is the playing card on credit/debit card, it's simply not strong enough.

Overall ratings:

Effects: 9/10. Minus a point for the playing card on card, doesn't really cut it for me.

Production Quality: 9/10. I think the audio and picture quality is again, exceptional, do you use a Canon XLH1 or similar? Russ, the only downfall with this DVD is the audio levels. The backing music and sound FX are considerably louder than Kieron's voice. The levels on his voice needs to be louder to balance better with your backing music/sound FX. I'm more than happy to help you out further on this if need be, send me a PM.

To the Mighty Master Kieron! Your stuff is definitely dynamite and I'm very impressed with the content, got to say WELL worth the money. And if you're reading this now, looking for reviews of Keiron Johnson's Chaotic, then waist NO time, order it, you won't be disappointed. Also, To the Max, WOW, what can I say?

I hope this review is helpful.

Kind regards.

Neil.

Just got the DVD yesterday. I did not get through it all as I hoped. (Busy rehearsing for the cruise show). That being said, I fell asleep to this (in a good way!). I was way tired but I had to see some of this material, as I have been waiting two weeks for this to arrive (because I am in the states). And am I glad I did! I only watched Lolly, Stop Kicking Me, Card in Orange and Transcend. All of which are workers.

Lolly- simple method and simple to execute. What do the professional say, most of the best magic invented is simple- this is no exception. You can see that by the reactions of the spectators. I like this because Lolly can be used for all ages! And the prediction part of the effect- Kieron teaches the out if something goes wrong- the out is really clever and I feel can make you look like you have stronger magical abilities!

Stop Kicking Me- this requires a one-time set-up that some may complain about doing. But- once set-up- you are set forever! And the title says it all- because the spectator just keeps getting kicked with climaxes! I think this could be a reputation maker. Four climaxes smacking them in the face!!

Transcend- another super simple method that looks impossible to the spectator. You can tell that from just watching the video- a card rising from a card box trapped within two glasses! As mentioned- this is super easy to get into right in front of the spectators and super simple to execute.

Card In Orange (CIO) - I really like this. Another super simple method that's easy to execute with an astonishing outcome. Yes- you have to prepare the orange before the effect- but as Kieron states, this is one of those effects that doesn't need to be done with every group. This is one of those special effects for that special moment. There are no hard moves involved which is nice. A miracle easy to accomplish that will leave the spectators in amazement.

For now- that's all folks. I hope to get to the rest soon and will post back. I will say- Kieron's teaching is very thorough and easy to follow. Kieron has his style and stresses during the explanations that he presents and does things certain ways because it fits him and who he is- hence the name "CHAOTIC". I can relate as I am this way- but some who are not will still find the structure of the effects Kieron teaches easy to accomplish and easy to adapt to his/her own personality. As what I have seen so far are worker effects with simple methods allowing one to concentrate on their presentation. That to me is gold!

So far- great work Kieron!

I had the pleasure of working beside Kieron at the Bristol Day Of Magic.

He is a true gentleman and one of the nicest people I've met. Everytime I looked over he was performing his effects effortlessly to a big crowd around his table. This DVD is full of real workers.

I will watch the DVD and provide a full indepth review, but after seeing him perform this to magicians over and over, I can absolutely guarantee you this material will floor your spectators.

Pick it up ASAP. You won't be disappointed.

Guys this is my review of RSVP presents Chaotic by Kieron Johnson

One of the best DVDís I received in the mail this year!

Iíll tell you why. First because Iíve learned you canít go wrong with just about anything RSVP releases. Itís a fact.
Also the production quality is second to none. And Russ all most always films the magicians performing for real people in real situations. I canít stress this enough. Itís so much better to see how a magicians effect plays for real audiences. Did I mention this was a multiple effect DVD as well? There is more than one effect on this DVD that could have been released as standalone DVD.

But we are magicians and the only thing that really ever truly matters is the effects. And will you perform them? I canít imagine why you wouldnít, and I canít imagine why you wouldnít want to support a magician like Kieron, who is literally one of the best thinkers Iíve seen in magic and not to mention of the nicest.

CIO (card in orange)

This is Kierons take on the Card in Orange. And this fooled me bad. He uses a couple of subtleties that really make this work. Kieron also teaches something else with this routine that is a very nice addition. I canít say much about it, because it gives away part of the method. But I will be performing this in my walk around set.

I give this 9 out of 10

p.s. Did I say the orange is examinable and can be used for your ending in a cups in ball routine or anything else you can use your imagination on.

Lolly Pop

This is such a nice routine. I can definitely see myself performing this. I could see this playing well for all ages. The one thing you will notice about this DVD is that Kieron gives you different ways to present these routines. And the other thing you will learn is that is methods are direct and to the point.

8 out of 10

Stop Kicking Me

Now this is a very cool routine. I loved the idea behind this and there are so many ways you can do this routine. The effect is the magician shows some of the pictures in his phone and plays a video of him talking and holding a card. The video is paused at the spot where the magician is about to reveal the card. The spectator is asked to select a freely chosen card. The video is then played fully, revealing that the card in the video was the freely chosen card.

8 out of 10

Re-pressured

I think is effect is what we would call a work horse. So many things going on, and there are so many moments of magic. This is obviously Kierons take on Pressure by Daniel Garcia and Dan White. But he has added a few more moments to the routine. The phone in play ends up in his wallet after its shown to have vanished and the balloon has been shown restored. Kieron mentions that the method is very bold and I agree. But itís also worth the pay off. Unless you change a part of this routine, you will only be able to perform this at certain times. But when the opportunity arises, it can be a miracle in the spectatorís eyes.

9 out of 10 (if you are in the position to be able to perform it as is.)

7.5 out of 10 because you will not be able to perform this whenever you want

Chaotic FKS

I will be the first to say that I never have performed a fork bending routine, and I have never wanted to do either. Until now. It would be a lie if I said I knew anything about this type of magic, so I donít know how much of this is original to Kieron, but I will start working on this because its so visual and I think Kierons performance of this was so nice. He literally made me want to start working on this.

10 out of 10 ( when you can make someone want to perform something they have never wanted to perform before, its pretty good.)

Transcend

This is a rising card from a box inside of a glass and another glass on top of it. Its completely under your control at all times, instantly resets and can be done with a borrowed deck! You will use this and so will I!

9 out of 10

Bigger

This is Kierons sponge ball routine. It can be played close up, but he has made this a worker for anyone who wants to do it on stage and it does play well. I might not use all of this but will definitely use the ending. I have my own routine that I have pieced together from David Stone and Mark James. I now have an ending that I can use on stage that I think will play better than the one I currently use.

8 out of 10

Devils Triumph

This is going to be one of the routines that is looked over by most magicians, mainly because of the simplicity of the handling. Kieron says all most apologetically that this is simple and not hard sleight wise. But I think itís brilliant. The presentation is what sets this one apart and when you watch it you will know what I mean. I donít want to spoil it for those of you who have not bought this yet. But the presentation has maybe opened my eyes as to how triumph can be presented. This was very nice Kieron, great job. Quickly I want to say I love the way he does a very well known shuffle, itís a very small subtlety, but itís a very nice touch.

9 out of 10

Credit Crunch

This is a very cool reveal of a card thatís on your own actual credit card. There are so many things you can do with this idea. I have a feeling that once magicians see this, there is going to be a lot of routines that come out of it.

7 out of 10

4 rules of magic

This Kierons opening routine that is so very cool. Its quick, funny and visual. Has one moment that completely shocked me, I wonít lie! I thought that it was a gag of some kind, until I saw the explanation and realized it was real, and he had actually done it!

8 out 10

In closing I think this will be a lot like Matthew Wrights Unusual Suspect. That DVD flew under the radar for quite some time, and then people started performing the routines and people started realizing how amazing Matthew is as a thinker. Kieron is the same way, an amazing thinker and has some great presentations. The routines are direct, the methods are workable for most magicians. This is material that you will use. No pipe dreams here. Check it out.

This is another RSVP/Keiron Johnson great DVD with material you'll use ( I am ).

When someone works in pubs and restaurants and releases a dvd, it's a BIG plus filming them in that environment. Kieron, who performs nightly at Illusions in Bristol, is a wonderful performer and it's wonderful seeing him play off the energy of the groups he performs for. He really connects with them.

The material is not move monkey stuff, but clearly designed to work in the real world with an emphasis on entertainment. While I don't work in pubs, I'm no stranger to taking the Mrs. to one for an ice tea ( mine always tastes and looks like beer for some reason;-)

I've yet to meet a bartender that didn't ask to see a trick once they saw my cards and they will always get other customers involved if they like what's shown. If magic is just a hobby, pubs are a great place to perform ( you can have a soft drink ).

Here's the ones I've been able to perform from the dvd.

Transcend: the rising card. If you worked restaurant or behind a bar, I couldn't imagine not doing this. Their signed card goes in to the deck and the deck into the card case and it's closed. That gets pout into a pint glass with another pint glass placed over it and the signed card rises out of the deck!

People go whack-o over it. You'd have a rough time following it, so make it your last or only trick.

The Devils Triumph: I think of this as the voodoo card meets triumph. I do both of those routines and I think this is a perfect union. I've performed it 4 times and if you've ever performed the voodoo card, you know how strong the reactions are.

CIO- Kieron's take on the classic card in orange routine. Don't pass this up, because it's an audience stunner. I learned card in orange back in the 1960's from Tarbell and it's no less amazing today.

Dean Dill performed card in orange on the Tonight Show. Millions of people watching and the card wasn't signed;-)

I cued it up at that point:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNeFfOFJq......&t=4m13s

Kieron has a wonderful touch where the audience member tears off the corner and it matches the missing piece from the card found in the orange!

Lollypop: The audience chooses an object and it appears in a flash of fire. Kieron uses a lolly, but you can use coins, bills, any small object. I liked using the lollypop because it "seems" so large and they get to keep it.
