I hope I never get so old that I become an old fart like you.

BTW
I'm nearly 68 years old, collecting social security, I danced on American Bandstand in 1962, and life is too short for me to associate with a dud like you. LOL

Suprised you've lived that long with comments like that. Good for you for being the oldest swinger in town Smile

No No No
My friend every concert that I go to has a mixed audience of all ages. The problem here as I see it is you gave up, you threw in your towel, and you poo poo those of us who keep on rocken. I feel sorry for you old timer.

Just for the record I am not a swinger. I am a grand pop who takes his grand children to concerts to share with them my love for music.

It the words of David Bromberg

"don't let the glasses fool you,
stand beside me when you measure my size"

Has anyone else here heard David Wax Museum's music? We have tickets to see them on May 8th and the age of the audience at that show will be from 20 to 80.

The spokesperson for the museum was not offended by the comment. The quote went something like, "Think about it... He took time to come and visit the museum.. He's 19.. His comment was innocent."

And that some how makes it right Pakar. It's like the blind leading the blind.

In this case it kinda does, as the spokeperson speaks on behalf of the Memorial.

They're officially not offended, nor am I, if you are... That's your right.

But the people directly affected are not.

Hate to tell you Al but the way you see it is wrong. Just because I dislike the majority of new music does not mean I'm a 'dud' or an 'old fart' as you so kindly put it. I have been playing guitar & been in bands for 30 years & I don't think I'm quite ready to 'give up' just yet.

The new music I avoid is chart garbage that is bought mainly by teenagers. If you enjoy that then fair play to you although many would question your taste at aged 68!Appreciation of music is personal preference of course but just because you like it & others don't it doesn't mean none of us are 'up to speed'. More that we couldn't give a flying !@#$.

And just because you don't like it, doesn't make it "garbage". Smile

The radio station that I listen to streams on the internet 24/7, it is commercial free, and you don't have to listen to teenage music if you don't want to. Just remember when you put down R&R music in front of me I come out swinging.

There must be 20 small and large music venues in my area where young musicians from all over the world come to be discovered.

IIRC David Bromberg is a pretty short guy. That adds extra humor to the lines quoted.

When I met him I thought he was an average size guy. I always find myself quoting the best song writers.

I remember about 15 years ago when David Bromberg's performance at the Philadelphia Folk festival was cancelled because David and his band drank too much, smoked too much, and kissed too many pretty girls. David and his band went home early that year.

Right! It's not garbage because he doesn't like it....he doesn't like it because it's garbage.

Sorry Al. But I don't count Beiber to be rock & roll! True rockers are drunk, high or dead Smile

Just where did I say that I even know what the hell that young boy sings about?

If you tune into http://www.WXPN.org today at noon eastern time you will hear a live concert from Bobby Long an venerable English folk singer.

I am trying my best to be nice to you Russell because you are a guest in our country, but I haven't heard a top 40 song in about 40 years.

I am a music snob, not a music slob.

That young boy was the original topic of this thread Al.

And a guest in your country? Erm, no, I'm posting on a forum, nothing to do with your country.
