I am designing a new effect for my routine based on the great master of the bizarre himself - Edgar Allan Poe. The illusion will cover EIGHT of his most famous works:
8. The Black Cat 7. The Murders in the Rue Morgue 6. The Cask of Amontillado 5. The Masque of the Red Death 4. The Fall of the House of Usher 3. The Tell-Tale Heart 2. The Pit and the Pendulum 1. The Raven Each tarot sized custom card has beautiful graphics representing one of the above stories. The effect will allow the user to pick Poe's favorite story, which only you know, and be right every time! Otherwise you can make up whatever reason you want for the selection! It is completely self working. Is this something you would be interested in? I am thinking about producing them for those who are interested. Let me know! Vince Click here to view attached image.

Vince, if that is your original artwork, you have every reason to feel proud-
Chilling and beautiful in the way only Poe lovers will appreciate- |

I'd have to figure out how I'd use them... but artistically speaking, they are beautiful!

The cards are printed on a stock very much like standard Bicycle Poker Cards with a linen finish. Very high-grade and the size of standard tarot cards which add to the creepy factor of course. The effect itself is very much like Eight Card Brainwave and I have to give a heads up to Tony Chris for much of the inspiration as far as using an ECB based illusion for an effect like this.
I hope to perform this illusion and another I am working on at Edgar Allan Poe's grave site in Baltimore in a few months. Here is an image of another effect I am working on. It will use four cards with 4 possible reasons for Poe's death. Each card may have one of two backgrounds. It will come with an aged 1849 police envelope, a document from Church Home Hospital (where Poe died) and a tarnished locket with a bloody piece of Poe's shirt inside. Using the locket like a pendulum, the client chooses how Poe died. They are always right of course! Click here to view attached image.

I'm always interested in Poe & I am also eagerly waiting for Dan at Lebanon Circle to release his Poe follow-up to his Lovecraft effect. As far as your effects shown with this post, keep us in the loop. |

I realize your routine uses 8 cards but one of my favorite Poe stories (which I feel is underrated) is Hop-Frog.

If I do a TEN CARD set I will include Leap Frog. Did you know that story was based on a real historical event?
