Most initial reports from incidents like this are full of inaccuracies. In some cases, inaccuracies are deliberately given to the press.

The whole case stinks. The latest report is that they were planning to go to New York and blow up Times Square after Boston. Really? You've just blown up a bomb in Boston, you know the whole world must be looking for you and now you're going to drive 200 miles to set off another bomb? Meanwhile you leave the owner of the car you've hijacked, which was to take you to NY, in the car while you and your brother stop off for some treats at the local 7-11, which happens to be in the process of being held up, and the owner of the car escapes.
Not ready for prime time. If these guys got professional Terrorist Training, them the War on Terror is over and they've lost.

No, landmark, my comment was not directed at poor people at all. It was directed at the terrorists who take advantage of our generous welfare systems. It's a bigger problem in London than here. It seems that some of the most vitriolic jihadist leaders think it is their due to maintain themselves and their families on the dole, whilst denouncing every aspect of the society into which they decided to settle. It has to do with the notion of jizya, and they see these payments as a tax that is due them for granting infidels the privilege of living.
And why, may I ask, do you think that an organized terror campaign requires only well-trained, calculating, rational terrorists? If you had no scruples, and you were organizing a war, in which a well-placed albeit home-made infernal device could shut down an entire city, would you hesitate to recruit and send idiots to place it? Hardly. Our enemies have not lost this war by a long shot. I would say that for a few hundred dollars and the loss of two "martyrs," they achieved a great tactical victory in Boston, forcing an entire city to cower in fear for days. Any general would think that they accomplished a lot at very low cost. |

And this success rate hasn’t improved at all in the five years they’ve been using suicide bombers, despite the experience of hundreds of attacks—or attempted attacks. In Afghanistan, as in many cultures, a manly embrace is a time-honored tradition for warriors before they go off to face death. Thus, many suicide bombers never even make it out of their training camp or safe house, as the pressure from these group hugs triggers the explosives in suicide vests. According to several sources at the United Nations, as many as six would-be suicide bombers died last July after one such embrace in Paktika." http://www.reddit.com/r/todayilearned/co......xploded/ |

So we can rule them out of pulling off 9/11.
Was that Osama Bin Ladens son in Boston last week who they deported?

He wasn't deported, I don't think. Not sure if he is UBL's son or not. Someone using the same name he was using, however, has been an occasional visitor to the White House.

The only generous welfare system in the US is corporate welfare which runs into billions of dollars for individual banks in bailouts, and tax credits for companies like GE. If you're talking about actual people as opposed to corporate people there is no generous welfare system.

You don't want a bungled operation that tips off the enemy to your methods. Really, what are you thinking?

There is a possibility Tamerlan was recruited by USA intelligence services before the triple cut throat killings. That he did the them killings. That the intelligence services were aware of that. Perhaps the intelligence services sent him to Russia to let heat die down and to get some further training while there. That that's were he learnt to make bombs. That the intelligence services paid for the trip and and that he was on their payroll. That's how he could afford to to drive a merc on welfare etc. If so he would be acting like a radical, to get in with these the radicals so to pass info to his CIA FBI handlers or whatever the idea was. Maybe it all got too much for him and he cracked. Now the intelligence services are covering up only because it looks a little bad for them that's all. As for the little brother he was maybe was lead on by big brother. Or something like that. Maybe we will get Pulitzer Prize if we can only find deep throat to give us a bit of help with this story.

I'm thinking that I should invest in tin foil. The market for it seems to have shot through the ceiling in the past few days.

May 2009
Tamerlan Tsarnaev competed in the Golden Gloves National Tournament of Champions in Salt Lake City, Utah. He lost his first bout. July 2009 Tamerlan Tsarnaev was arrested after a woman identified as his girlfriend accused him of domestic abuse, a charge that was dismissed at a jury trial in 2010. Which may not be serious enough to get sent jail for but serious enough to get Tamerlan Tsarnaev sent back to Russia. No doubt then he did a deal with the cops and became a police informer at this point to make sure that did not happen . Being a Muslim he would a good asset for the intelligence services. He could start acting like a radical to get to know radicals to help the intelligence services. For some reason that charge is dismissed about a year later. Oh we get by with a little from our friends. Sometime in 2009 Ruslan Tsarni, an uncle of the brothers, told CNN he first noticed a change in Tamerlan Tsarnaev's religious views in this time period. He said the radicalization of his nephew happened "in the streets of Cambridge." In 2011 when the Russians warn the FBI why should they worry if he is working for them. So it goes.

Charge possibly dismissed because in 2010, they'd gotten married and she couldn't be compelled to testify against him.
