I received some truly lovely props lately, from a variety of sellers. So I was playing around with some of them and put together the collection seen in the attached photo. It features props by OE, AM and UYD, as well as a hauntique. I love the idea of a show in a box. And the Curator is so right about the correct box creating interest. Boxes are a set of barriers and these barriers help to define a thing contained. The barriers can be of size, shape or weight, but also typological.
Anyhow I wrote this blurb for the photo: "This morning it was there again, that infernal box. It always returns, almost as if we are connected. Last week Mrs Miggins found it in the dust bin and brought it back in to the house. Different contents, but the same ***ed box, tempting me with forbidden temptations; promises that can only lead my soul one place...Last month Ellis found it in the pawn shop where I had left it in the hopes it would attach itself to some other poor creature. Blast Ellis and his sense of justice and fair play. Suspecting it had been stolen from me, he contacted the constabulary and, applying much pressure, convinced the merchant that the box was best returned to its 'rightful owner'. Oh how I bitterly laugh at that turn of phrase, one which represents an inversion of the true state of affairs, knowing full well that the box is the possessor and I, the possessed." That's great, love the possessor and possessed, nice play on that concept.

Do you do any effects with the contents of the box or just use it for the storyline?

Thanks everyone.
Silvertongue, Thanks for sharing the video. I haven't seen it before. Fire Starter, The atmosphere comes from a number of months of contuous exposure to audiobooks by Lovecraft, Machen, Le Fanu, James, etc. It finally seems to be rubbing off Weepinwill, I am planning to use the box and contents for a seance style show with AA used to psychically warm up my participants and the other contents for the spirit manifestations. George, UYD are great, the lamp and bottle are from them. Regarding boxes, I have a custom tarot size Spirit Ark coming from Afterworld Magic. They have an option for custom art which I have taken advantage of. They have also gone the extra mile and get two thumbs up for customer service from me. I'll let you all know what the box is like when it arrives.
