It seems to me like newcomers frequently want to know where they can get inexpensive figures. I thought we might compile here a list of the less expensive ones from various makers. I believe that Timothy Cowles also offers some figures in this price range, but I don't have Flash enabled, to check. It is http://www.timcowles.com
As of April 2013. Under USD $400 Various makers on the auction and classified sites. Under USD $500 Keith Lovik figures as low as $495 http://www.lovikspuppets.com/ordering.html Jerry Layne 30 inch figures as low as $489 http://www.jerrylayne.com Dan Payes figures start at $495 http://www.danpayespuppetry.com Under USD $800 Jerry Layne 40 inch figures start at $729 http://www.jerrylayne.com Kem Poyner's "Scuddlebud" figures are $795 http://www.ventriloquistdummy.com Mike Brose figures start at $799 http://www.puppetsandprops.com

I know there are also lists on other websites as well. I think any lists of makers that currently exist probably need to be updated as there are more makers all the time. I would estimate the current number of makers to be astronomical, give or take 1 or 2. |

I used Dan's list as a reference when I was compiling the list of lower-priced figures.

When comparing prices you have also to consider what the figure is made of, whether they are conversion figures, are they stock or 1 of a kind etc........

Good point Jim. Because I have to rely completely on what the seller tells me, pictures on the web and varying reviews I've learnt very quickly that you get what you pay for in most cases.
