I have a simple method of being able to deal out four cards that add up to 28, to matter where the spectator asks you to stop.
The presentation is that you show that the deck is not all the same cards or in any particular order, then you deal the deck out on the table and the spectator says stop at any time they like. You stop at the card they choose and give it to them. You also give them a further three cards from that spot in the deck. This is open and clear and very fair. The four cards they now hold will add up to 28 (Jacks = 11, Queen = 12, King = 13). This can then be used for a variety of other tricks (such as they go to the 28th page of a book and you tell them the word, etc.) It's a very simple trick, but I'm not sure how effective it is. What do you think? |

The deck would need a good f**** s****** in my opinion. Presumably it can also be cut fairly (i.e., the arrangement is circular).

Yes. I've been learning a classic f*** cut for this trick.
But it's not a pattern of every four cards. That would be too difficult to get the spectator to stop at. |
