I'm so glad I bought my Chuck Jackson figure (aka Jack) last week. He's such a pleasure to work with.

Isn't it funny I paid a fair bit of money for a Selberg and although I like his look I find the Chuck Jackson so much more pleasurable to work with.

Chuck really knew what he was doing when he built him. I can't describe it exactly, but it's the head and socket movement, the controls, the length of the stick. It all just works so well together and I find myself able to bring more life to Jack than I do with my Selberg. Everything is so smooth and accessible and balanced, even his legs are just right in length and weight so they swing naturally instead of just hanging there twisting to the sides.

I'm very impressed with Chuck's work and now I understand why his later figures are rarely up for resale.

I wanted to get some background information on Jack so of course spoke to Dan Willinger from Ventriloquist Central. This is what he had to say:-
Quote:
Chuck Jackson took over from Craig Lovik in the late 1980's. His first figures had terrible gapping under the chin and the bad pitch point from Lovik. After 1992 or so he corrected the pitch point and gap. Yours has the improvements so that is how I know it is from the 1990's. If it was from the 1970's it would have been a Lovik. Your figure looks like the Trixie model. As matter of fact I am sure it is Trixie which Chuck sold as a female or male figure.

Yes, like I mentioned before when you were waiting to get him, his figures are just a fine piece of work.

Yes, but of course he's a male figure. I've been trying to post images like I usually do but they won't happen for some odd reason.

Walden Ben's Chuck Jackson is a Trixie too. Chuck sold them as either male or female.
