Are they much the same, is one more worth wild than the other, or do you need both do get a comprehensive understanding of a PK/invisible touch routine?

Is Banachek's Psychokinetic Touches discussed on his PSI Series?

Quote: no but I believe he's coming out with a new book on PKT very soon. I'm sure it will be very good. Banachek always delivers.

Greetings,
The very first time that Banachek performs and teaches PK Touches on video is the 2-DVD set that he and I shot recently. We delayed our release when L&L surprised us by unexpectedly releasing the set that I shot for them seven years ago. But with that said, enough time has now passed and we are currently getting ready to finalize our project (which is already shot, edited, etc...). All that is left to do is to send it out for replication. Expect info on our pre-sale within the next few weeks. Keep the change, Rick |

Thanks for the update Rick, hope you are doing well. It would be great to see you and Banachek featuring this at Mindvention (just one more time) this year.

Banachek's is great, but the best out there is Patrick Redford's work from Pentagon and Peter Turner has some great PK Touches work as well if he decides to release it someday.

Did a show with Banachek recently where he performed this. Many people do PK touches but to watch the master at work was a real treat.

Indeed Patrick's methods are also amazing - love moving up an arm on one person and the connected person moves up their arm too

The one reason I like Liors so much is that enables to work with cutlery. I feel with proper presentation, everything just flows so well and is perfect for walk around. Two different methods that are all fantastic in which you will benefit from both.

I should also throw in that Morgan Strebler has some amazing PK Touches effects as well, at his lecture he demonstrated I believe 4 very different ones including one that was a completely real time touch where one person felt another blow on someone else hand! -Jakob |

Best I ever saw was an elderly guy who was playing the caravan and holiday clubs in the south west of England.
But I'm sure there will be hundreds like him. My point being he worked (in season) 12 shows per week and it was fascinating to see the 'ease' in his performance. That's what happens in so many of these wonderful journeymen's performances in magic. It simply... 'becomes them'. Yet I'm sure they're all grateful to guys like Banacheck and Lior.

My personal rule of thumb is "If you like an effect, learn all you can about it" That means all variations to the effect because that knowledge will allow you to be flexible in how you present things and likewise allows you to "change up" on the method. As Bob Cassidy would say, the more methods incorporated into your routine, the easier it is to throw people off your trail (and keep the magic buffs from reverse engineering what you're doing).
I use a combination of the two your mention plus. But I'm having some unique fun with things when I do the routine, some of which goes beyond a simple PK touching phenomena. In bias I say, learn to work with both as well as modified versions to Lior's thinking (using an ITR vs. Loops). The other angle is to look into some of the psychological techniques that can be used in this type of routine as well as the mechanical methods like Christopher Taylor's Real Ghost system. . . there's also a rather expensive folding chair out of Israel that gives you a real time touch feature. |

Thank you but to me the most powerful effects with PK touches seems to be the reactions of the participants involved - without a chair.
I've been watching my local friend do PK for years and it is apparent that the biggest reactions tend to be from the participants - which then ripples through the audience if done well. I haven't had much interest in CT's Ghost or the Israeli version (which has had mixed reviews here as I recall). I know DB used a chair on one of his twins specials, but why use those props when you can get the same kinds of reactions using more traditional methods? Anyway, I'm hoping and guessing that L&L releases the new Banachek DVD for MV. Once learned well this will be a staple for both strolling situations and stage stuff.

I don't think the new stuff is from L&L, but rather an independent release from The two of them.

On "The Carlyle Touch" dvd from E. Raymond Carlyle there is something related to PK touches called "The Mediums Grip". It's not for stage. It would be presented only for two spectators but it may be helpful in opening your mind with all the methods and versions outthere.
Sorry for my poor english! |
